Very good

A delightful, small hotel run by a husband and wife. Easy to locate off the motorway. Lovely grounds to have a stroll and forest walks close by. A lovely restaurant with a wide selection of wines. Excellent value for money.

Nice restaurant and very friendly staff. We used this as an overnight stop on a long journey from the south. It is in a good location a few miles from the motorway. The hotel is surrounded by a huge forest and there a lake just a short walk away. The food in the restaurant was very nice. The staff work very hard to make your stay as nice as possible. We took one of the budget rooms in a separate building but I would recommend staying in one of the rooms in the main hotel

Pleasant stay

The cost of an overnight stay booked on a non peak night was very good @£65. We received a very pleasant welcome from from the lady receptionist. The bed was very comfortable although the room was rather small, excellent shower.

I normally look for the positives but I'm afraid the negatives won the day here. The hotel is looking a little dated inside, perhaps this is reflected in the price. The bedroom decor is ok but its been done cheaply and is reflected in the finish (I ran a kitchen and bathroom business). The dining room is in need of a redecoration, dated and peeling in parts wall paper, stains on the ceiling etc although looking across the room it still looks attractive. The room was chilly and at breakfast many guests were wearing their jackets, early autumn. The evening meal was ok staff night off so quite basic the was just ok but the wines are expensive. I'm afraid for a 3 star hotel charging 12 euros for breakfast and orange juice, hot drink and breads is just not good enough especially as the pictures show a reasonable selection of products. I'm afraid in all the hotel came up a little short, I'm sure the food is normally good when the hotel is properly staffed.

Lovely location in the Forest by a lake. Helpful, friendly staff. Good restaurant with a lovely ambiance. Parking at the property. Very reasonable room rate. The bed was very comfortable and a proper king size. We hadn’t slept properly for 3 weeks because French beds are tiny and mattresses so hard.

Our bathroom was a bit tired - someone could easily have sorted out the black grout round the bath in half an hour!!

L'accueil (gens charmants, attentifs, disponibles et efficaces) Le restaurant : très belle adresse, on mange très très bien (une pensée émue pour l'os à moelle aux girolles et aux ris de veau !!), très bons cocktails notamment le Tronçais.

Loin des bons souvenirs que nous en avions

Nous étions dans l’annexe sur rue, donc chambre très bruyante et plus que spartiate. Cabine de douche vieille et pas pratique, sanitaires datés. Aspirateur oublié : placards sols . Pas de table de chevet. Une table étroite et encombrée eau/prospectus, un seul siège. L’hôtel devrait dissimuler les poubelles et containers derrière joli habillage en chêne, forêt de Tronçais oblige. Larrivée et/ou sortie dessus n’est pas engageante. Dîner cher pour ce qu’il était. Vraiment très déçus alors que nous le connaissions déjà pour être une bonne table. En revanche, service impeccable et accueil agréable, dans un cadre splendide. Nous essaierons la bâtisse principale avant de décider de la suite et ce qui ne plaît pas aux uns peut plaire aux autres.

Fort beau hôtel bucolique et proche des centres d'intérêts

La situation fort fort sympathique à coté d'un étang au milieu de la foret de Troncais et proche de l'abbaye de Noirlac t du château de Ainay le Viel et bien sur des chênes tricentenaires LIt et matelas très confortable

Chambre assez bruyante au niveau de la tuyauterie des chambres voisines et des bruits d'impacts Restaurant gastronomique trop bon pour un repas léger du soir

Idéalement situé dans un cadre idyllique et calme, les gérants étaient au petits soins pour nous faciliter le séjour pendant les 3 jours passés en période caniculaire (vigilance rouge !!!!). Petits-déjeuners et repas excellents, vraiment rien à redire
