Villa Shantitara Bungalows

We had such a wonderful stay at Villa Shantitara Bungalows in Sanur. The bungalow was lovely, clean and comfortable, and everything was beautifully looked after. Mario, our host, and his daughter Shanti were absolutely wonderful so welcoming, friendly and accommodating, and they really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble, and their hospitality made us feel very welcome. Thank you Mario and Shanti for making our stay so special.

The only downside for us was that the location was a little out of walking distance from most of the main areas and attractions. However, Gojek was incredibly cheap and easy to use, so getting around was never a problem.

Good location, quiet and away from the busy coast strip but close enough (short bicycle ride) to beach. Some very good restaurants and warung near by. Great for families and Mario is very friendly and helpful plus a good cook, the home made sourdough bread and yoghurt is a treat. Stayed almost two weeks July 2026 and would happily stay there again.

Room size is great, pool's also quite convenient right outside the room. Access to common kitchen was quite helpful as well. Also, the sourdough bread by the owner was great! It definitely had a lot more community vibe than a typical hotel/resort. Everything (beach, restaurants, mall, play area for our toddler) was quite accessible through Grab at reasonable prices.

The mattresses are standard spring, which wasn't best for me. Also, the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. The property is a bit dated and its definitely starting to show.

The pool was so lovely. We used it a lot and the pool area was really nice. It was super quiet. It had a traditional feel. Lovely animal life in and around the property. It was great to have our laundry done on the property. Shanti and the sweet cleaning lady were helpful and nice.

The location was far from the beach and down a busy laneway. The bed was very hard and the air conditioning unit was really noisey. The room itself - while traditional was very old and even though we’d arrived two days after our scheduled check in- was not ready for us (even though we had paid). We didn’t even get fresh soap and had to use an old bar that had been left. I had read rave reviews about the breakfast and for us, it was very average. Considering what we had paid down the road, it was poor value. They even charged us full price for our daughter who ate next to nothing. This place could do with a good clean up and de clutter.
