Presidente Beach Apartment

The location was perfect, not too close to the beach but within walking distance and close enough to the shops and areas that you would like to visit to be able to walk also. We barely used the car other than a large shopping trip.

The apartment was very nice or should I say has the potential to be very nice. With a few touches here and there it would make a big difference for example the balcony furniture is poor, the table looks like it was found on a tip and the chairs were rusty and old. Bed linen and pillows, fairly inexpensive if renewed would make a big difference. Then there is the noise from adjoining apartments and above. You can hear everything like the walls and floors are paper.

The apartment is well equipped for a beach trip (there is also a beach umbrella, which is very useful in Portimão), but there is almost nothing of the basic supplies (only salt, one toilet paper, dish soap and few more things), so it is more suitable for a longer stay than we did (3 nights). The position is ok if you plan to visit the beach and you don't have a car.

The water heater was broken, so we didn't have hot water during our trip except for the last night. The staff was very helpful trying to fix it as soon as possible. Although we had an unpleasant experience coming back and finding whoever came to fix the heater have been using the kitchen, as we found the stovetop dirty and with a strong smell of food inside the apartment. We tried to explain the situation to the staff but they minimised the episode.
