Guest House Nenad

Nicely set in the forested area yet walking distance to the main road with the bus stop and close to the local small supermarket. Easy interaction with the host who was very helpful whenever asked for information or assistance. We were visiting Croatia and the lakes area without car rental and it is absolutely possible to reach the place by bus from Zagreb with a short walk to accommodation from the bus stop on the main road; to explore the lakes area through Entrance 2, which was reachable via a walk from accommodation through the beautiful forest. (We managed to see both higher and lower parts of the park over 2 days since entrance 2 is set in the middle. Entrance 2 area also includes eateries for different budget, which was convenient) We visited the area in August heat, Though the room was under the roof, it had a ceiling fan and a smaller fan, enabling to cool it down in the evening. The temperature around was also dropping towards the night, thus the place did not feel hot to sleep in not withstanding August heat during the day. The room had a balcony with a green view, which was great for taking tea in the evening. This was a self-catering option, presence of the small fridge and kettle in the room were very welcome. Overall it was a very good nature-oriented break.

The balcony was shared between 2 rooms, whilst this did not create any difficulty to us during our stay,, it may feel less private if guests from both rooms would want to spend the time on it at the same moment. Possibility of zoning off for privacy may be considered by the host. It would be also good to have a small light table which could be used on the balcony. Otherwise, the bus connection to Zagreb / other Croatia towns needs to be checked in advance as it is not frequent. The local supermarket has limited choice, but essentials are available, it was 5 min walk from the house and it was open till 20.00 pm. It is not possible to swim in the lakes park, but there is plenty of shade and freshness from streams/water and it is beautiful to walk through if you like nature. The area is hilly so be prepared to walk some steps up and down.

Clean and spacious room. Quiet area. 20 minute walk to entrance 2 Plitvice National Park (quite hilly with loads of steps for those with suitcases). Friendly host. Equipped with extra blankets if needed. Option to buy drinks in the fridge at reception. Beautiful area surrounded by trees. Tables outside and sun loungers and parking spaces. Market less than 10 minutes away, although shelves are quite bare and it closes at 8pm. Plitvice national park is

Fan available but not the best at keeping room cool, but it’s bearable.

The house was in a great location; the owner was very helpful on many occasions.

Nothing really

I liked the location. The house is converted in a small hotel with big rooms and decent bathroom.

The bed - the mattress is too hard, the bed lining and covers are weird. The towels are so used, that make scratches. No heating, it was rather cold. Small TV for the size of the room . No shower gel - it is not too expensive.
