My wife, daughter, and I absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The house is in a perfect location, very well throughout amenities, and the patio/hot tub with ocean views is the icing on the cake. We definitely plan to stay here again!

Loved the deck and it’s view of the ocean from the hot tub. The place was surprisingly rooms and the many little amenities were great, especially the beach chairs, umbrellas and toys. Only complaint- it was hard to get the bedroom cooled off on some of the days, because there was no cross ventilation back there.

Overall, great location and really nice rental. It’s an older home, but well kept and very clean. The home has everything you needed including baby supplies. Location was excellent, close to the beach and restaurants. Hot tub was a great amenity with a view of the ocean.

My husband and I just finished a fantastic two weeks at Salem Surf Sanctuary, and we have never had a better experience with a vacation rental. Larry and Andrea have truly thought of everything, from usual items like beach chairs all the way down to a savings card for the local grocery store (on the refrigerator, in case you're looking for it)! The house was impeccably clean when we arrived and well stocked with anything we could have needed. Communication with Larry and Andrea was quick and easy throughout the booking process, and Larry even checked in via email after our first week to make sure we had everything we needed. The neighborhood is fantastic. The house is so close to the beach, and equidistant in the opposite direction is Mission Boulevard, which is full of great restaurants within walking distance on days when you don't feel like driving. Every day at Salem Surf Sanctuary was an absolute treat. We will definitely stay here again when we come to San Diego in the future!

Wonderful stay! The property was exactly as advertised. Larry and Andrea made it super easy from reservation through checkout. We elected to pack light we did not have a car. We took Rideshare from the airport and then downloaded the Pronto bus pass. The number eight line will take you anywhere you want to go from Ocean Beach to Pacific Beach and everything in between. Easy walking distance to everything you need or desire. Staying just off the boardwalk was way better than Oceanfront. This Bungalow allows you to feel your part of the community while still being able to get your toes in the sand in less than a minute. We only have a couple 'got to go back' places, this will be our third, we will visit again.

This beach house is everything advertised and more! The owners pay attention to every little detail and took great care to ensure we had an amazing vacation! The deck and hot tub are what made us want to rent it and we spent the majority of our time there! We will def be back here!

Larry and Andrea are great hosts! Our family of 4 were comfortable and happy staying at the beach house! We had everything we needed and more. They take great pride in their home as they should, it is a wonderful place. The house rules are easy to follow and meant to keep the place in such good shape. We highly recommend the Salem Sanctuary.

We have stayed at this property many times this was the first time we stayed for a whole week. Very close to the beach the house is supplied with everything. Grocery stores , liquor stores and restaurants are walking distance. We really enjoyed waking up eating breakfast looking at the ocean on the patio and eating dinner watching the sunset. The best part of it is relaxing in the spa after a long day in the sun. Larry and Andrea are amazing host.

First off, Andrea is awesome. She really males sure you have everything you need in the place and is always available if you have questions and/or needs. The lace itself is great. The front patio is amazing with ocean views and plenty of space. The house was a perfect size for our family of 4. Location is amazing right at lifeguard station 20. Near many restaurants and everything you may need. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Salem Surf was the perfect place for us to stay in our favorite part of San Diego. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable and relax. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, and the side deck and the hot tub were relaxing and clean. They have a parking space, but we didn’t use it since we used public transportation using the Pronto app. The bus stop was near the house along Mission Blvd. It was the perfect way to get around without a car. The location of the home was one reason why we initially rented it. We could see and hear the ocean from the side deck, and walking to bars, restaurants, and grocery stores was easy. Andrea and Larry were great hosts and answered our questions quickly. We will definitely be back to enjoy this perfect space.

This cozy little one bedroom was the perfect get away! It was just enough room for my partner, 2 boys and I. Seconds away from the beach and kept exceptionally clean plus a hot tub! They have everything you may need and more. I would definitely recommend!

My family and I had such a wonderful time at this property! We really couldn't have asked for a better location and home to spend our week! We set up camp on the beach daily that we could keep an eye on from the patio, ate every meal outdoors, mom and dad even soaked in the hot tub in the evenings after the kids went to bed. The property is clean and well equipped with literally everything you need; the good, high quality products/items you'd have in your own home! Everything has been remodeled, the pictures don't do it justice. The 1 bedroom is very large - we had our 10month old in her pack n play with plenty of room to spare (a pack n play was available to use but we had brought our own) and our 8yr old slept on the pull out couch. Something to note: There is no AC and windows don't open but the large fans provided kept us plenty cool with the doors open for ventilation. It did get a little warm when we left and had to lock up the house during the warmer times of day, but quickly cooled down with the doors back open. This definitely wouldn't deter us from booking here again in the future! Thank you for sharing your home with my family!! We really appreciate all the care and thought you put into this sweet little oasis!

Our stay at this wonderful ocean view cottage was unbelievable. The outside deck with hot tub was so awesome for relaxing evenings enjoying the cool breeze and sounds of the ocean waves! Inside is beautifully decorated with all new furniture and everything that you would ever need is there. Thank you Larry and Andrea for making us feel at home. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy this place again!!

This was my first time booking through Vrbo and I’d say it was a great experience! To start off the day after booking something came up and I had to push it back a week, Larry was so kind and did that for us, hassle free! The instructions on everything were easy to read/follow. The home is the perfect location for a low key getaway. Private patio with hot tub and ocean view. Boogie boards, all kinds of beach toys, cupboards with space heaters, towels extra linens, etc.. walking distance to anything you’re need and if the ocean side is too noisy than the bay side is just right there too! Also it had a parking spot which is key. Thanks for having us 10/10 would recommend and stay again!

We loved this house. It is about 50 steps to the ocean with a view of the water from the large deck. The house is one of the original little houses in Mission Beach with much of the original charm remaining. There is a gorgeous leaded glass window in the dining area and a stained glass window over the bed. The house is small but has everything one would want or need., including the hot tub on the deck. It is delightful and Larry, the owner, was very solicitous.

Loved this cute beach home! The location was so great just right in between Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. Hot tub was a plus for the evenings when it cooled off outside and very nice touch to the property. Loved having access to a grill and a full kitchen. Larry checked in with us when we arrived and when we left. AWESOME PLACE! We will definitely be back in 9 months when my son arrives back from his deployment.

The Salem Surf was just as relaxing as described. Everything was there to accommodate a wonderful relaxing long weekend. Very comfortable and close to everything. Sitting on the deck watching and listening to the waves was the best. Will definitely return.

Stayed here with fiancée for a few nights and we were both very impressed. The home is located within a few steps of the sand and as others have stated the view is better than photos indicate. The location is perfect right in the middle between Pacific Beach and Belmont (15 minute walk to both). Jacuzzi was a huge bonus and a perfect way to relax at night. Would highly recommend to anyone looking in Mission Beach.

We were just a short walk to the beach. The place is small, but perfect for a couple. The parking was tight for my F150, but I was able to squeeze it in. We took Uber everywhere we wanted to go. Otherwise the place was well stocked and very nice ! We will come again !

This house surpassed all expectations that I had. Close enough to the action in Belmont and PB, but was also quiet and peaceful at night. The view from the patio is much better than I anticipated. The sand is literally 30 yards away and you have a clear view of the waves coming in from the table/hot tub/grill. The beach closest to the house was never crowded, even on Saturday when the beach at Belmont was packed. The house had everything we needed, including a mini swamp cooler that kept the house comfortable during the day. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Our 6 day stay was just what we had hoped for. The house is in the perfect location, close enough to the action of the ocean front walk but a block back to give a bit more privacy. The house was spotless, the bedding and towels all looked new. It had everything you could need in the kitchen and had the grill which made our stay more enjoyable. The bed was so comfortable and loved the pillows. We used the hot tub multiple times daily and were so happy to have it. We wish we were back there already.
