The natural greenery was fantastic. Birds, the pool, the lodge with a nice soaking tub and more natural greenery and birds. The staff were all fantastic. The food was great. We walked the property, used the canoe. It was a happy stay.
The generator near our lodge was loud and disturbed the natural peace, surroundings. I know they are working on getting electricity.

We loved the environment and sounds of being in the jungle. Our bed was amazing and loved our room facilities. Staff was amazing. We liked being close to San Ignacio and Xunantunich. Treehouse 15 was able to get weak Wi-Fi outside by bathtub.
The road into the resort is not paved so about 15min in and tough to not damage rental car. Our AC was not working and couldn’t be fixed, a portable unit was put in but very loud, tough to sleep. Treehouse 15 is next to restaurant so very loud early and blowers doing landscaping maintenance begin early, not a place to sleep in so not quite worth $500 a night. Food was more basic American, not my style, nor anything to RAVE about.

The room was spacious and stylish, access to the river and tubing, the restaurant was fabulous and the service was excellent. The pool was beautiful too.
We had nowhere to unpack clothes, just a few hangars in the bathroom. We had a big room, so a set of drawers would have been much appreciated and made our stay a little more comfortable.

The surrounding jungle was incredible. The drinks that the bartender make are some of the best I’ve had and they’re cheap. The staff is also very nice and welcoming. The staff make you feel very comfortable like family
The room and place itself were very basic and badly done, especially for the price. It made you just want to not spend any time there at all. I.e the tiles in the shower area make you feel like you’re in prison; in the room there was no place to hang a hand towel near the sink at all; the clothes hangers were all mismatched plastic ones; the towels were ratty and falling apart; the bed was older and creaky. The pool was nice but not heated. We went in December which is peak season. It didn’t get cold but definitely not hot enough for a non heated pool. I didn’t see anyone use it the whole time we were there. There wasn’t even a hot tub. The food was good the first day, but it went downhill quickly and by the last day my girlfriend got food poisoning from the fish. The drive out to this place is also very far off the main road on a bumpy dirt road. It’s fine one time when coming into the property but we went on tours every day we were there which meant driving on the bumpy road for 30 minutes just to get to the main road, then driving to the tours so we probably spent about 2-4 hours in the car every day we were here.

We liked the very friendly staff. They are not to be blamed for the overall disappointing experience.
Do not expect what the resort name suggests. There were almost no birds singing sweetly, and no other remarkable wildlife. We only saw tucans and some other dull birds who came for breakfast at the restaurant because they were fed fruit. Upon arrival, we discovered that our deluxe bungalow was exposed to three different annoying music sources, one coming from the restaurant, one coming from the adjacent kitchen, one coming from the pool area. We had expected a quite jungle feeling where you can hear the animals in the trees (which were not there anyway) rather than three conflicting music sources. To help us with the music, we were offered another deluxe bungalow away from the restaurant and pool at the far right side of the resort which would have meant an uprgrade. But this is where their huge generator runs 24/7 because the resort has no line electricity. The generator noise was like a busy highway. We declined. The staff then made sure that there was no music from the restaurant and kitchen, which helped. The food choice and quality was not great and not adequate for this type of "luxury" resort. Bear in mind that San Ignacio with its nice restaurant scene is 8 miles away and the trip there and back with a taxi will set you back 80 USD. The pool area is nice and Henry was a great bartender. The water in the pool was surprisingly cold and made us wonder how the water can stay so cold in a warm environment, day and night. The rest of the grounds is not in good shape and shows a lack of proper maintenance and under-investment. Our room was drab. Ice-cold LED lights, as far as the lamps were not broken. A bathroom that has not been renovated in many years. Worn-out mattresses. This is not what you expect when you pay 2,800 USD for 6 nights outside the high season.

Beautiful setting, really friendly staff, love the reusable water bottle idea it made things so easy for us.
We travelled with toddlers so the pathways were a bit difficult to traverse, there was no bathtub in the room (not a deal breaker but would have been a nice option), the pool steps could use a edger tile as they were a bit hard to see the edges when it was overcast but the pool itself was awesome and we did find the food and drinks a bit pricier then we anticipated though everything tasted good.

Amazingly gorgeous property, kind and helpful staff, and the onsite food and drinks were delicious!
We did not realize that it was 4 miles down a dirt road which made coordination for some activities a little more challenging and costly than anticipated, but the property more than made up for that. I would come back in a heartbeat!

This lodge was a pleasant surprise to the entire family. The staff was amazing from the reception to the dining services. The pool area was beautiful overlooking the river. The food was delicious. I think the best part of this lodge was the birdwatching right from your dining room table. The staff has a perch with food and all different types come and eat. The room was spacious and everyone was super accommodating. Highly recommend.
The only thing that i didn't like was the road going to the lodge. Very bumpy and just things caught me by surprise while driving up to it at night. Made sure we did the road in the daylight. I think the signage to the property could be more apparent from the road. It is 3.5 miles from the main road to the lodge. Other than that, nothing.

loved the swimming pool that was beautiful and peaceful. restaurant was very nice too.
distance from san pedro (particularly length of road once you leave the main road) and quality of the road to get there.
room 11 was a little bit outdated and requires some renovation. was ok though and comfortable. bathroom sink not convenient to use. shower pretty bad condition. room location a bit far from the main area in the lodge.

The scenery was amazing, toucans right outside the bungalow. Pool and river were great.
The food was incredibly expensive, four times the price of the same meal in the tourist restaurants elsewhere. As a family of four it ruined the experience a little. We stayed in five different locations in Belize, and this was the only one we were disappointed with in terms of value for money.

The location is truly amazing, surrounded by forest, numerous species of birds and some visiting howler monkeys. The staff made the trip truly memorable, they were kind, polite, helpful and went out of their way to help.
The food at the restaurant was outrageously expensive, to the point that we ended up leaving the hotel to eat elsewhere. We later found out that the original owner (before Muy Ono took over) had the same menu at HALF of the price. They simply cannot charge 15 USD for a flour tortilla with cheese and beans, it's insulting.
The staff are seriously underpaid. I find it really hypocritical of Muy Ono (the owner company) to praise themselves for doing "social work" by giving money to some charities and then pay their staff below the minimum wage and have them work long hours and more than 7 days straight.

Wow. The peace and serenity of Sweet Songs is unmatched. The grounds are exceptional and the uniqueness of each space is truly unparalleled. The service was impeccable from our arrival to departure. Carlos was so knowledgeable! We learned so much about the culture we were able to immerse ourselves in at Sweet Songs!
The water pressure and temperature of the sink was fantastic... the shower... not so much.

We absolutely loved the location. The surroundings were so beautiful and full of life. The nearby river with tubes and canoes provided by the lodge made for a lot of family fun, with exploring and jumping off rocks into the river.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and beautiful and the pool side bar was a bonus with a very friendly bar tender. The rooms and bedding were clean and comfortable and the air-conditioning worked well to keep us cool. The city center was a 20-30 minute drive on a dirt road part of the way and was very passable by an AWD car rain or shine. (I'd even say it's passable in a 2WD car) Our family really enjoyed playing and spending time together here.
I believe we stayed in bungalow #8. The blinds were completely see through from the outside at night. We did not realize this until our 2nd night, so who knows what passerby's may have seen as we were completely unaware of this problem.
Also, 2 of our adult children stayed in bungalow #6. When we checked in we were told there was no key available for this room, but they would get one for us by morning. Turns out the only way to lock the door from the inside is with a key. So for the first night our kids stayed in an unlocked room with a chair pushed up against the door. When we asked for the key again in the morning they still did't have a key, but they said not to worry about leaving the room unlocked because no one was going to go into their room. We had to take all of their valuables out of their room and lock them in our room when the left the resort for an all day excursion. They did have a key ready for us that evening.
The restaurant food is mediocre at best. For the USA $25 price I was expecting more.

Sweet Songs Lodge was beautiful! The property was just gorgeous and the staff were wonderful. They were extremely accommodating in every way.
They could have used some solar lights on the road path down to our bungalow 11. We would also suggest setting up a pool table, darts and some other outdoor activities on site for families in the building above the pool and on the surrounding grounds. the lodge is growing so this is not a criticism, just a suggestion.

Staying at this property was like living on a movie set- the jungle background and wildlife were incredible and Toucans joined us for breakfast every morning. I didn’t even need mosquito repellant. The pool overlooking the treetops with howler monkeys was perfect after a full day of excursions along with the bar drinks and food with helpful staff.

The swinging bed and bath tub on the porch. The air conditioned room. Tubing and canoeing and were the only people ever on the beach. Breakfast in the morning with the birds. The complimentary bottles for water were great!
I would've liked breakfast to go later. Also the resort overbooked my last day which I adjusted and made other plans but I was given a credit vs reimbursed so I had to spend more money than I wanted to in order to use it all up.

the lodge is situated in the jungle and perfect for a remote and luxurious jungle experience. a taxi will take you for 70 Belize $ (one way) from San ignacio to the lodge (about 20 minutes). we saw some monkeys, Tucans and other birds during our stay. for swimming you have the pool with a cocktail bar or the river with a natural small beach, both were great. you can get a canoe or a tube to explore the river for free! the staff was always very nice and helpful. we also got a take away breakfast one morning when we need to leave earlier
as said before by other guests, because of the remote location the lodge’s restaurant is the only place to eat nearby if you don’t want to go back to San ignacio (if you go by car you might not feel comfortable by night on the unpaved road). prices are in US $, at lunch you get food from the menu (10-15 US $), for dinner there is a choice of 2-3 different starters, main courses, desserts. we first thought it is obligatory to take all 3 courses and ended up with 44 US $ per person. as we recognised later you can also just take the main course. for a 2 night stay we found that still okay. it would actually be nice to get some of the lunch meals for dinner as well.

The location is truly off the beaten path and worth it! You are far away from everything, but that is what makes Sweet Songs so incredible. Being out in the jungle in such a serene location was amazing.
The construction. To be sitting in peace and quite and suddenly the hammers and saws start blaring was quite disturbing. Hopefully this is something they will have finished soon.

The hotel is perfect for a romantic or chill jungle getaway. The infinity pool is picturesque and the drinks are freshly made with ingredients from the area. The river offers a great opportunity to chill in the tubes and let yourself be floated downwards. The tours to Xunantunich and the ATM Caves were fantastic. The staff was very friendly!
Also: You get to see a lot of wildlife just by eating breakfast or dinner
The food could've been better. It was OK.

The location (jungle) is beautiful, and the Lodge grounds well maintained. Go and see the Botanical Gardens close-by! Our two-bed (1 room) bungalow was totally adequate, but the tree houses looked like they'd be wonderful to stay in (there were too many of us.) The pool area is great for relaxing (has a bar and food). Loved the outdoor restaurant, especially seeing local wildlife close up. Overall, the food served was delicious. All the staff we interacted with were extremely friendly and helpful whether at the front desk, poolside, in the restaurant, or for activities. They built a fire for us on the beach one evening! Tubing on the river was fun and highly recommend canoeing from the Lodge to San Ignacio.
The Lodge is quite far from the main road and San Ignacio, and since we didn't have a rental car, we would have had to get a Lodge shuttle to San Ignacio and back which is quite expensive (US$70). This just meant that we ended up eating meals (which were very good) mostly at the Lodge and this ended up being more expensive overall than eating in town. Just something to consider when planning a visit.

A great setting, wonderful wildlife around
Staff didn't seem to be well trained, with various snafus occurring during the stay (which, in all fairness, the manager took to heart, and tried to make up to us).
