Paraíso Quetzal Lodge

Excellent location in fabulous gardens which are full of beautiful birds and hummingbirds. Amazing views and sunsets. Staff are professional, respectful, friendly and helpful. We took their guided quetzal tour and saw a male and female repeatedly returning to their nest.

Mattress was very hard

We enjoyed the location and the food in the restaurant was nice.

The location was good but we weren't really prepared for the up hill walk to the reception/restaurant area. If you had mobility issues you may find this difficult. But by far the bigger problem was the very uncomfortable beds - they were rock hard! The room was cold at night but there were heaters and I had read about that so was prepared for that.

Comfortable wooden cabin. Excellent restaurant (but a little pricey). Very good trails in cloud forest around hotel. Viewpoints, lovely garden, numerous bird-life. Hummingbird feeding station attracts lots of them.

It can be cold at this altitude, so a hairdryer in cabin would be great.

Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our stay and left after one night.

It’s Glamping in wooden huts that are not insulated and when it rains it soon becomes very uncomfortable. Wind and rain battered our hut, it was noisy and cold. They provide you with extra blankets, an a electric heater and a hot water bottle but I must say it wasn’t what I was expecting. We were in No. 9 which is very small and precariously perched on soil that looks like it could soon slip. The hut slops to the right and so does the bed. We had a terrible night and told reception the next morning that we would be leaving. The restaurant menu is such that you have to choose a set menu of two or three courses. Not an enjoyable stay.
