A place which could have been way better

The location is beautiful. The host provided us with a travel card which was free snd this covers a lot of things in and around Ruhpolding for example the cable car ride in to the mountain top in Bergen, 3hrs free in schwimbad in Ruhpolding etc

Our room(1 bedroom apartment) was facing away from the valley. The internet was horrible. It was on for few hours and mostly switched off during the day wsp in the evening and night. The floor was squeaky and made noise while walking. The walls are also paper thin. The tv is really old with a set top box which takes for ever to load up. There are only a handful of channels which makes it tough if you are staying with young kids esp with internet not available most of the time.

Mountains feel like home...

The surroundings! Really peaceful! The view is exceptional 👌🏽

I am pretty sure that other Wohnungen are exceptional cause I saw the pictures. Our issue with this one was, you have the toilet just right beside the cooking area, and the door is a curtain, which makes it not so comfy, none for the cooker or the person at the toilet. They could place the sink in the cooking area and the cooking area inside the room.

Lovely location and house, but some improvements needed

The house is set in a beautiful and peaceful area and family friendly. Location was great. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The house is a beautiful traditional house with lots of character. We found the beds in the apartment were comfortable.

Unfortunately there were a few things that we felt needed improvement. There were Ants in the apartment. The toaster was broken and it would have been nice to have a freezer. There was no information that we could find about where we should take our rubbish and if we should recycle. The wi-fi was cutting out regularly and the TV was very small with pixels across the screen. Also the remote control was so worn out you could not tell what the buttons were for. The lights in the apartment were very dark and I found myself using my torch. I'm not sure if this is just how it ment to be tough.. The shower was tiny. We are not big people and it was a struggle to fit in. If you are larger person you will definitely struggle with the shower in this particular apartment. One morning workers came and turned off water to the entire house without any notice right as we were washing dishes and needed to shower, we had to contact the owner to find out when we would get water back. All of the above is not an absolute deal breaker but for the price we paid, those things are really disappointing. Overall I felt that the value for money wasn't very good.

Very good stay, great location, yet some details to improve

We stayed at Rauschberg Zimmer at the top floor. The room was clean with a nice mountain view, the house in a very quiet area with a large garden, 800m from local bus stop, several mountain trails start close-by.

Even though we were satisfied with our stay overall, there were a couple of details one could definitely do better: first, the host doesn't send her bank account details per e-mail so it is cumbersome to pay for the stay (cash only), second there could be a little bit more silverware (cutlery), some breakfast cereal bowls, mugs, dining plates, glasses, etc. (we had only 3 coffee cups, 2 small ceramic plates, 2 wine glasses available to us). Further we were missing garbage bags (we used our own), we had to ask the host to get toilet paper, kitchen towels and dishwasher detergent (which were eventually provided, but one had to ask; it was not in the room as we checked-in). The host definitely doesn't engage even in the most rudimental small talk, doesn't ask if we were ok/missing something, or doesn't wish a far-well which is strange if you are staying in a private property with couple of rooms.

Beautiful surroundings and nice hosts

The hosts, Uwe and Chistel (he speaks English) were very friendly and gave us good tips about the local area. Our trip to Ruhpolding didn't go quite as planned, so we ended up arriving by train. The house is 3 km from the train station, but Uwe was so kind to offer to pick us up at the station. The surroundings are magnificient and the view from the master bedroom fantastic. We had the two bedroom apartment, Leopold, which was very nice and cosy.

The beds were hard for our taste, and the pillows could be better. The kitchen was fine, but we missed a few minor tiems, e.g. a sharp knife and an extra hot pad.
