The location and its condition. I considered staying at Villa Las Tronas Hotel which is across the street. While it’s located on the water, it is a historic hotel in need of renovation.
The restaurant did us a solid by preparing us room service in the bar and off menu. Dinner is not worth it. Awful really. The staff has issues with requests in English. Getting a hot latte was extremely difficult. The breakfast is expansive but the quality average.

Great location.
Close to the old town and cozy beaches.
Hotel is clean and comfortable with a great view for a bit extra pay.
Breakfast was lacking a few items such as vegetables.

The location of this hotel is prime—no doubt about that. Unfortunately, from the moment I checked in, everything went downhill.
I was first given a room at the very end of a long corridor. When I complained, they offered me an “upgrade” for €40. Later, when I expressed dissatisfaction with that room, they simply moved me back to my original one—which turned out to be without a shower, but at least more convenient to
access.
The real problem came when I asked for my refund. Despite charging me incorrectly on the spot, they refused to return the €40 at the front desk, telling me I had to email their administrative office and wait for the process. So instead of a simple refund, I now have to chase down $120 through a long and frustrating process.
As for the rooms themselves—very outdated, with a drippy atmosphere. The bed was extremely hard, and the overall service was “just okay,” certainly not five-star standard.
A hotel with this kind of service and room quality does not deserve a five-star rating. The location is the only thing keeping it afloat.
