The hosts Elcho and Dan are super responsive and caring. I added a friend to my booking and the hosts were able to accommodate our separate arrival and departure times and were very supportive with offering advice and suggestions for places to see and eat at. The flat is very well equipped and has guidance on all aspects of living in Ottawa and making best use of the flat (Think Dish washer; washing machine; dryer etc). The flat is spacious and charmingly decorated and furnished. If you spot any issues you can be sure the hosts will fix it - immediately! The location is fantastic set in a secure area of town (lots of embassies around), near some fabulous restaurants (check out Foodinator on Somerset), close to the river for a stroll in the park and less than 30min walking to Rideau. Bus routes (Somerset or Laurier) and O train nearby (uOttawa). Whether you look for a place to strike out exploring or need space for the family to keep yourself organised, this is a fantastic stay to book at a thoroughly competitive rate.
We didn't encounter things to dislike. When a light was out, it got replaced. When we couldn't figure out the WiFi we got supported (binder had two different pw noted). Floorboards creak because they are wood and beautiful and add to the charme. The bathroom door could do with some WD40 but everything is clean and easy to get comfortable in.

Location was why I booked with Elcho. Walked everywhere. The neighborhood was beautiful. Elcho was VERY accommodating to my last minute request for the second bedroom. I had an issue with the refrigerator, Elcho addressed the issue immediately. I would recommend this home.

I love having windows open, not all windows had screens in them therefore when they were opened, especially at night, the bugs would get in.

Property very spacious and clean
It was unseasonably very cold when we visited ( although it was May ) and there was no heating we could control.
Only tiny blow heater for a large house so we were cold the whole time we were in the house.
