Dona Graca Lisbon Apartments

Lovely apartment in a great location. Our children loved the pool after a morning exploring the sights. Great that there was parking and we loved the breakfast.

Pool and outdoor space is amazing. So nice to be able to relax and cool off outside. Room was cozy and clean. The morning breakfast bag with fresh orange juice and the yogurt, milk, and cheese / meat in the fridge were such a nice surprise.

Pillows were pretty hard and uncomfortable and sheets felt synthetic which, given that the n air conditioner is in the living room and not the bedroom, made sleeping kind of hot at times. There is a fan in the room which did help. Would love to see some better pillows and natural fiber bedding (cotton, lineen, etc.).

Beautifully clean and fresh apartments. Quiet and a great size with a lovely bedroom. Breakfast pastries and orange juice was great. The pool was a welcome retreat after a day of sightseeing. Excellent housekeeping team. Once we had our bearings, public transport was excellent.

Would have been even better if there was more crockery and a couple of larger bowls for fruit or salad. Too meagre at the minute. Hadn’t realised that the pool and outdoor area not accessible after 6pm. Most people would sightsee through the day and return to pool to relax late afternoon. Insufficient beds in the garden for people sadly. Just 3 or 4 more would make a big difference. Whilst housekeeping team were excellent, bedding not changed for the whole week.

Very nice apartments. Well furnished. Good lighting. Nice bathtub.

Our apartment had trouble with electric supply twice. The first time for more than an hour. Was sorted out eventually. Then it happened again late at night. We managed to turn the electricity on by ourselves that time. But the problem seems to be with the electric load. Both times when the electric supply failed, the shower was on with the room heater also on at the same time. The hot water is very temperamental. Lasts for around 15 minutes at best and takes a while to heat up again. The apartments are not very sound proof. And you can hear sounds of the plumbing from within the walls. All night long , I could hear the sounds of the water running from the plumbing pipes whenever someone in the next apartment would turn on the water or shower or something etc. Lastly, the reception desk. Was closed at 5pm on our first day when it should be open till 6pm according to their information. Secondly, very cold vibes from the lady at the reception desk. Just not a very positive interaction. As if she wasn't happy to be there or as if we were doing something wrong. We had paid an extra 50 euro for a late check out at 2pm, and our mistake we were 15 minutes late checking out but very hostile behaviour from the reception lady. Attempting to unlock our apartment at exactly 2 pm and then being very rude and pointing to the clock that we're 15 minutes over and forcing the housekeeping staff in while me and my wife were still in the room. I get it. Yes. It was 2pm. But a slight delay can occur and this is not the way to address it or deal with clients. We were made to feel like we were doing something illegal or were living there for free. Just not a very warm experience.
