Wrens Nook

Lovely location, friendly host. Well equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms. Huge garden/fields would be great for children. Historical charm for the old part of the property. Sun room (conservatory) was lovely and warm. Walk into the centre of St. Agnes was picturesque and very easy.

The road leading to the property is exceptionally narrow, particularly the last 50m, OK for small (narrow) cars but a real challenge for SUVs. However we were warned about this. There are parking places on nearby road but that's about 3 mins walk away which is what we ended up doing. The stairs which are in the old part of the property are steep without a full banister.

This is a very unique, historical property that is exactly what we were looking for in Cornwall. The hosts, Ruth and Pete were great folks who are very helpful and engaging. We enjoyed our conversations with them about the area and things we could see and do. There are several notices in their booking info about the narrow drive up to the place. As long as you have a small car, it’s fine. We thought it was very unusual which added to the unique character of this beautiful place. The cottage was comfortable and very quiet with a great kitchen and sunroom. We build a fire in the little stove one night and it warmed up the place just right. Our four night stay was memorable, especially our hike on the nearby Southwest Coastal Path, St. Michael’s Mount and visits to several botanical gardens in the area. Great food options in St. Agnes and nearby Portreath.

There is very little to dislike about the Wrens Nook. Worlds hardly describe the feel of this area. It’s another world entirely. Be mindful that Cornish folks get by just fine with smaller spaces, roads, cars etc. One track roads are very common, so be sure to set your expectations accordingly. Google Maps works pretty well here and we saw more by traveling around on these little roads than we ever could on a tour.

Lovely little old house, some lovely fridge items left for us, plus rum (we didn’t partake) and scones! Garden areas are beautiful, very quiet area with lovely views Lane is more narrow than can be pre warned. We didn’t use our car once whilst staying mind, we walked everywhere.
