About this house rental

This large detached home, a recently converted barn in the grounds of a 17th century traditional Normandy house retains much of its original exposed brickwork and oak beams. “The Barn” has been renovated to a high standard to include ample windows giving plenty of natural light and views across the garden and the surrounding countryside. The property benefits from a large open plan living and sun room with log burner and French doors opening to the garden, a large well equipped kitchen with modern appliances and oversized oak dining table. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with WC and shower. Internal stairs to the carpeted first floor which includes a large double bedroom, two twin bedded rooms and a bathroom with WC, bath and separate shower.It is ideally situated with easy access to beaches of Deauville and Honfleur (and many others!), ports, airports and the many local attractions of the area.

Heated pool included from June to mid September. Please enquire to confirm the pool will be available for your dates.
Please note that we do not provide towels for use by the pool. Please bring your own towels for use by the pool or at the beach.

Off -peak reductions available for use of only one or two bedrooms (2 or 4 people). Please enquire.

Very well laid out house with great swimming pool. Excellent prior communication with the owner who gave us lots of helpful information before we arrived that was also spelled out in material in the house. Lots of books and games in case of bad weather. Good facilities in the kitchen and utility room.

I cannot recommend the barn highly enough. It has everything you need and more. Spacious , clean and wonderfully decorated , nestled amidst a fabulous , ethereal garden. My teen boys loved the pool and the space too! Close enough to visit Paris by train for the day , Pegasus Bridge by car and loads of other special places ; yet close enough to amenities ( wine !) to never be inconvenient. Heather was amazingly helpful from start to finish. We have every intention of coming back. Thank you for helping us make some wonderful memories.

We had 6 nights at the property in Asnieres and loved every second. The property was clean, spacious and comfortable and has all the amenities we needed. When the sun shone we made full use of the 12 metre pool and on the gloomy days we got out to sight-see in Bayeux (1 hour drive), Lisieux (30 mins) and the D-Day beaches (1 hr). Nearby is Moyaux with a nice restaurant, bar, bakery and even 24 hour vending machines for baguettes and pizza (yes, really).

The barn was spacious, clean and was perfect for our stay. A large kitchen and dining room and a comfortable sitting room. The double bedroom had lots of room which had a toddler bed and cot if you need it. The two other bedrooms are twins and plenty of space. No wardrobes, but adequate draw space. The barn is in a peaceful spot and we drove to nearby villages Moyaux and Cormeilles for fresh produce and eating out on occasions. The pool was an asset especially for three teenagers! The location of the barn was good for us as we got a direct train to Paris from Bernay (2hours) and the train service was excellent. We also drove to Deauville and Trouville on many occasions (on request from our teenagers). Lively coastal resorts (but not noisy), with a nice vibe as lots of restaurants to choose from and casino! The beaches were excellent. We also walked the Normandy beaches Gold, Juno and Sword which is definitely worth doing. The British Memorial at Gold Beach was a beautiful place to visit, tranquil and we were able to reflect on the history of it all. We fell in love with Normandy and the barn and can only say we would definitely return! Definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our week at the barn. It was a slower pace of life cycling around the area, eating croissants from the boulangerie in Moyaux for breakfast. We relaxed at the barn lot and swam in the pool every day. We visited a local market in Pont L’Eveque, beach in Deauville and creperie in Cormeilles. We’ve been to Normandy many times and this area around Moyaux is really lovely and the accommodation was great for us.

The property was well maintained and well equipped and a pleasure to stay in. The location was quiet and private (albeit overlooked by the owner's empty house). we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine and using the pool behind the owner's house. The cover worked well to keep leaves and other debris out. It was a short drive to the nearest village for bread and cakes at the local bakery, and the supermarket was also a short drive away. We had easy trips out to Lisieux, Honfleur and Deauville. All in all I would recommend this property for a family or two couples looking to spend a relaxing time in Normandy.

A paradise of tranquillity. A wonderful, high-quality property in a quiet location with excellent facilities and amenities. We stayed for a week and we didn't want to leave. I can't recommend The Barn enough. It has everything any family of any age or couple could need for a perfect holiday, you name it, it is there already for you. This extends to a child's games chest, books for adults, dvds, tourist information and more toys and swings in the extensive garden. The pool was a welcome addition for us, a family of 4 with young teenagers, during the heat and the barn was cool enough without the need for fans or air con. The wifi wasn't fast but it worked and all of us managed to use our numerous gadgets with it, so that was great. Any minor questions we had during the stay were answered almost immediately by both the property manager and owner. Tricia knew lots about the area and was able to tell us about many of the local markets and events happening, which you miss if you don't have that inside knowledge. The Normandy D-Day beaches are about an hour and a half away by car and nearby Liseaux has trains to Paris and back, which takes 2 hours but seems to go quicker than that! The Cerza zoo is so close and well worth a visit. Falaise is about an hour away and has a good castle in a nice town. The nearest village, Moyaux is about 5 mins away and has a wonderful boulangerie with the most amazing sweet treats and puffiest croissants I've ever seen! It is also very picturesque, like many of the villages in the immediate area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if when decide to come back to the area in a couple of years.

Our week at this barn conversion property was one of the best holidays we have ever had! The building itself is beautiful, spacious and very clean. The kitchen is better equipped than my own! The grounds are huge and the heated pool was great for our teens. The patisserie in Moyaux is not to be missed for morning pastries, nor the huge steak dinners in L'hotellerie. Despite it's rural location, we saw a lot of Normandy- Honfleur, Deauville, Trouville and Lisieux. We also did a day trip to Paris, which was a 2 hour train ride from Lisieux. The weather was gorgeous- only 1 wet day out of 7. A huge thank you to our hosts who were very attentive to our needs.

We have just come back for our week as Les Clos Bellangers and we are already looking at coming back. The barn is the grounds of another property but don't let that put you off - it is completely separated from the main house including drive and parking. The barn is well equipped and comfortable and ample space. We came as a family of 3 but there 3 separate bedrooms if needed. The grounds of the property are fantastic - so peaceful that you can really unwind and for our 2 year old Son it was perfect for him (and us!) to run around without worrying about traffic and hazards. The property is an easy sub-3 hour drive from Calais and 10 minutes from a big supermarket (and amazing independent shops!). You are also only around 35 minutes from Honfleur without any tolls. A recommendation would be to visit Deauxville races - around 40 minutes away. Here's a shock if you are British - it cost only €5 per adult to get in and free parking; you don't get this back at home! Finally, Trisha and David were absolute stars before, during and after our booking. Very attentive to our needs which we thank you for. Hoping to stay again soon, "The Houghton's"

A fortnight after our return home our 2 year old still keeps saying she wants to go back to the holiday house so this place definitely has the seal of approval! Hands down, best gite we've stayed in. Meticulously converted barn finished to an extremely high standard. If (when) we come back to Normandy there would be no point wasting time in carrying out another accommodation search, this place has the lot. Fantastic for the kids, huge garden, swings, tree house & slide. Well equipped and cosy with spacious bedrooms. There were 8 of us (4 adults and 4 kids) and ample space. Nicely situated for visits to Honfleur, Deauville/Trouville, Lisieux, Villers sur Mer etc and 5-10 minutes from local shops, restaurants and bars in Moyaux and Cormeilles. Only thing spoiling was the weather which wasn't much better than summer has been in the UK therefore the pool wasn't utilized to its full potential. The local cider is a must try, the Brut version. There's a farm shop that sells it which is signed off the road between Moyaux and Asnieres, well worth a visit to stock up for the return to the UK! Thanks also to Tricia and David for the welcome (also for the Tonic water to go with the ladies' gin) and advice about where to visit. Definitely hope to be back! Steve, Anna, Damian, Helen & Kids

Beautiful spacious accommodation, well equipped, very clean. Huge garden was a boon for young children. Swimming pool perfect during hot weather. Quiet setting, if all you want is to sit back and relax. On the other hand, plenty of places of interest to visit within easy driving distance. Trish and David welcoming and helpful. Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful home! We so enjoyed our week in this stunning barn in beautiful, tree-lined grounds, which provided welcome areas of shade, - we were so lucky with the weather.The barn was light, spacious and extremely well equipped - lovely open kitchen, - fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier - two bathrooms, with showers and three bedrooms. Relaxing evenings with outdoor seating and BBQ, and plenty of extra garden chairs. Loved the open layout and the rural location. Local village was 5 kilometres away for fresh croissants and baguettes - recommend the pain au Suisse! The children loved playing in the grounds, using the swings and playhouse, with lots of toys for them to use and seeing the donkeys. Close to Villiers-sur-Mer - great beach and lovely restaurant right in centre of ville, our five year old ordered Moules and was able to swim in the sea - and the picturesque Honfleur - fabulous Saturday market, shops and restaurants right on the harbour. Tricia and David were a delight, so helpful, especially getting our car started and the battery replaced, and extremely knowledgable about the area, both fluent in French - (great too if you needed medical help whilst away) - and the chilled wine awaiting our arrival was very welcome! A fabulous week! Can't wait to come back.

The barn is beautiful and very well equipped, myself and my husband stayed there with our 2yr old and it was great for her with a stair gate, high chair, cot and loads of toys. Tricia and David were great and nothing was to much trouble we was warmly welcomed and given all the information we needed and if we wanted to know anything else we could call them. Honfleur, Deauville/Trouville are a must to go to, very pretty, and Naturospace which is butterfly house in Honfleur was amazing. We also went to Cerza zoo in Lisieux which has to be one of the best zoo's we've been to, if you go make sure you leave a whole day free for it and wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking. All in all we had a fab holiday there and will definitely go back, hopefully the weather will be kinder to us next time but even on rainy days we still had loads to keep us entertained at the barn. 3 of us used the barn as a base for a 5 day cycling trip. the kitchen had everything and more that we needed. Bathrooms were great and the barn has very reliable wifi and a good stereo. The weather was good not great which meant we were able to make the most of the wood burner on 3 of the evenings. A lot of space for the 3 of us and the lounge areas were great to relax in. The area is very peaceful and was ideal for our biking. Best place we have stayed at in 9 years of trips all over France. Tricia and David were very helpful and friendly. I am sure we will be back, plus families. Excellent!

This house does what it says on the box. Beautiful house in quite location but near to town with all that is required. Nearby beaches and towns, but wonderful gardens for quiet times. House had all that is required for a comfortable holiday with all amenities. David and Tricia perfect hosts, and the eggs were out of this world, ask!! A wonderful Christmas break that we hope to repeat this year, exceeded our expectations and hopes.

Superbe séjour en famille dans cette très belle maison située dans un splendide jardin. Calme et authenticité seront au rendez-vous. Merci à la propriétaire de nous avoir permis de manger avant le départ puisque la maison était libre après nous. Seul défaut déjà évoqué dans les commentaires, un frigo trop petit qui pourrait être complété par un second frigo.

Nous avons pu profiter du calme de la campagne normande dans cette charmante grange réaménagée en compagnie d'amis, pour un moment des plus reposants. Les équipements modernes et la décoration contribuent au confort et au sentiment de bien être dans cette propriété. Seul bémol, le frigo est un peu petit pour 6 personnes.
