Beautiful apartment in San Pantaleo

This property has every you need and is beautifully clean throughout. Would highly recommend.

Joan is a special person who came to our rescue when we arrived late and got thoroughly lost, our hire car company did not have any maps and was not particularly helpful. Joan made a round trip of 45 minutes to find us in a restaurant, the restaurant having phoned her to advise of our dilema. The apartment is very well appointed with lovely views into the distance. The main bedroom has the same views as the living area with a very comfortable double bed. Unfortunately the second bedroom with twin beds was used by my friend and she found the bed to be hard and the room cramped, more suitable for children than adults. The room has one small window which is at ceiling height and brings light in from the living area, so there is no natural light in that room. We had a couple of very wet and cold days and the heating which is by radiator was extremely efficient and most welcome. San Panteleo is delightful and on our sunny days it was great to sit and have a snack and coffee at Nina's. The english speaking waitress was so helpful as both of us had no italian. There are quite a few restaurants but our favourite, if a little expensive, was the one in the square, Giagoni. On one of our drives a tortoise walked out of the verge in front of us and I was just about to get out of car and it made its way into the verge a little further on. Another day 3 little wild piglets ran across the road, good job the van coming the other way had good brakes. It really is a lovely island. This is a lovely, well equipped apartment with a spectacular view towards the high rocks and wooded valleys. The patio area has the same views. The village is a short (partly uphill) walk into the attractive village of San Pantaleo, which has several restaurants, though none open in the winter months. However, there is an excellent small supermarket/deli open all year. The driveway to the apartment has an awkward right angle and is quite steep. One small improvement in the apartment would be to provide an armchair or two. The large divan requires everyone to site side by side, as if in a cinema. As a summer base for touring northern Sardinia, this is almost perfect. In winter the Costra Smeralda is virtually "closed" but the roads are empty and the scenery (white beaches and mountains) beautiful.

Pictures on the site do not do this apartment justice, it was roomy, clean, well equipped, a really comfy mattress in the main bedroom and a very short walk to the village centre which was a real delight.San Pantaleo had many places to eat and drink and the whole place had a lovely arty, relaxed and welcoming feel about it, a great place to explore the northern part of Sardinia from.Thank you Joan for a wonderful stay in your holiday home.
