Kivotos Villa Private Pool

We absolutely loved our 9 days spent at Eva & Sakis's villa Kivotos... The villa was immaculate & fridge was filled with such helpful things to start us off... Eva very kindly met us to let us in, even though we arrived in incredibly late at night. They were excellent hosts throughout... offering tips of where to go, cleaning the pool (discreetly) every morning, and always being responsive to questions. Similar to other guest reviews, we were also incredibly touched by the homemade apple pie & olive oil parting gift, and really appreciated the frequent visits by the cleaner - we loved our drive up into the hills to watch beautiful sunsets, and had a great time exploring Rethymnon, Kourtaliotiko Gorge/waterfall and visiting Baja Beach club. All in all it was the perfect relaxing holiday which is just what our family needed. It was made all the more special thanks to the lovely, and exceptionally well maintained villa . Thanks Eva and Sakis, we'll be sure to recommend.

The villa is absolutely stunning. It is only 15 minutes from Rethymno but you feel like you’re in the tranquil hills. The house is surrounded by beautiful olive groves and the sea view from the outside terrace is even more show-stopping than the photos. The living space was perfect with a well-equipped kitchen which allowed us to cook proper meals when staying in, plus a great BBQ round the corner from the terrace which we also used. Our incredible host Eva provided us with olive oil from home-grown olives as well as an amazing welcome bundle of food on arrival, including fresh tomatoes, bread, eggs, milk, ham, cheese and melon, bottled water and even a bottle of wine - everything we could have needed while we got settled. The bedrooms all have super comfortable beds and pillows and are spacious with plenty of storage to be able to unpack. The air con throughout the house was fantastic and really efficient. We also loved the screen doors in the lounge which meant we could have the doors open without letting any insects in. The pool was brilliant, it was a great size and made pool days at the villa a dream. It was cleaned early every morning so was always perfect. The cleaner came every four days and was amazing, the house was sparkling every time and we had fresh sheets and towels. We also had additional towels provided for the pool/beach which was so handy. Our lovely host Eva also gave us a list of recommended restaurants in and around the area which meant we ate in incredible places we might not otherwise have known about. This included a hidden gem of a bar only 5 minutes drive from the villa with views of the sunset across the sea.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the villa, we loved it.

We hebben een fantastische week in villa Kivotos gehad. De villa is mooi gebouwd, prachtig gelegen in de heuvels met een schitterend uitzicht op de zee. We hebben genoten van het terras, de tuin, het fijne huis, de privacy, de zonsondergangen, het zwembad en de gastvrijheid van Eva. Ze is een geweldige gastvrouw! We kregen een lekker ontbijt bij aankomst, we genoten van zelfgemaakte olijfolie en werden door Eva getrakteerd op heerlijke zelfgemaakte apfelstrudel. Eva's gaf ons allerlei tips over de omgeving, uitstapjes en restaurants. We vonden het moeilijk om te vertrekken en willen heel graag nog een keer terug naar deze prachtige plek.
