About this house rental
Le Coustalet is a bright , airy modern house enjoying splendid panoramic views across the valley and the surrounding countryside. The 8x4m pool has a large deck in Ipé and is in the sun all the day long. The open plan lounge/ kitchen looks out through the 6m long bay window onto the terrace, pool and the view. Satellite flat screen T.V with DVD. and music system and broadband WiFi. Fully equipped kitchen with a separate larder. The entry hall leads into a bedroom with a double bed and an en-suite shower room with W.c. There is a separate W.c. next to the stairs. Upstairs : children's bedroom with twin beds and a large bedroom with twin beds that can be joined together to make a double.The second bathroom is in the tower off the landing.
We have decided to expand our off season and would like to mention that there are electric radiators in each room and a log burning insert in the lounge. We will include firewood in the price but the fluctuating and rising energy costs makes it very difficult to calculate electricity charges so we will ask for a €50 weekly contribution payable on arrival from November to the end of March.

Friendly and welcoming host. Excellent countryside location and central for all the places we wanted to visit. It is a very well equipped and comfortable gite. We managed to enjoy use of the pool on most days during our holiday and the view from the terrace is superb. Fully recommended.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home in the most gorgeous of settings. As soon as we drove into the driveway and took our first look at the stunning view, we were in heaven. I said to Bernard, the photos just don't do this place justice at all. It is truly breathtaking. We enjoyed many a glass of wine in the garden in the evening and the kids spent the majority of their time in the fantastic pool-which is spotlessly clean. It is so peacefully quiet, I think we would have broken the silence with the laughter and squeals of delight. There are ponies in the field next to the house, a happy little dog that comes to visit from the neighbouring house (he likes a sausage!) and in the evenings little lizards can be seen on the patio...we were fascinated watching them!We visited so many places nearby, beautiful Domme and its underground caves La Grotte De Domme, Sarlat-many times for food and lovely shopping, the chateau at Castelnaud, Beynac and its little winding streets. We spent the best night at the night market in the nearby village of Belves, a choice of so many different foods and live music. There is so, so much more, we just simply ran out of time. The house and its gardens are a great size for a family of five (as we were), it was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need. If there was one small thing that I could think of that I would add for future guests, it would be a choice of DVDs or books for the evening.All in all, it was one of the best holidays we've had for a long time, the Périgord Noir is simply stunning, the weather was wall-to-wall sunshine, the locals couldn't be nicer and Bernard was the perfect, smiley host that allowed us to enjoy staying in his beautiful home. We will be back, merci Bernard, a bientot!
