'Lowenek' is a lovely apartment with parking, which has been completely refurnished in 2016 to a high standard. The apartment has an open plan living space and 3 bedrooms, one of which is ensuite. The kitchen in well equipped including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.

Just a short walk from the beach, you can look out of the window and check out the surf before heading off to the Blue Flag beach which is served by RNLI lifeguards during busy periods. For those who want to learn to surf during their visit there is a Surf School in the village.

What a wonderful apartment. Perfect stay, key collection to the hosts contact flawless. The little village is a breath of fresh air. Can’t think of any faults, would happily stay here again. Everything you could need for the beach was on site right down to paddle boards! Made for a very laid back week away. Oh the sunsets are something else! A very slight hillDown to the beach easy parking at the apartment and some fantastic cliff walks.

Good... accommodation met everyone's needs and requirements. The living area and rooms are all of a good standard. The location and ease of access is good with the village having all you need 2 pubs/bars coffee/cafe ice cream and tourist beach wares shop....there is a Tesco about 15 minutes away for bigger shops. The Beach is magnificent at low tide huge stretches of sand and surf. The blue bar is worth a visit to watch the sun go down with a chilled beverage..full of locals and visitors all chilling in a relaxed atmosphere....oh and the WiFi was quick enough for a 14 year old and his Xbox while the 12 year old was calling friends online....so we got peace and quiet on the master bedrooms little veranda....again with a chilled beverage or 3. A visit to St. Agnes was nice ...if you are lucky the local seals might say hello.

Fantastically located lovely apartment with plenty of space for parents and three teens. Fully equipped with everything we needed and the welcome pack was a really thoughtful addition. Communication with Emma was brilliant and we would highly recommend the apartment -especially for its location to the beach!! We’ve been coming to Porthtowan since the children were small and it’s a testimony to the fact that at 19,18 and 15 they’ve ask to come back year 7 years in a row. Officially our happy place!!!

The Property is located in the perfect spot to visit both north and South Cornwall and also has many local attractions (walks, beaches, surfing). The property itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay, it is vey well equipped and spacious. Communicating with Emma is very easy, she replies within the hour. The kids were very excited with the hamper which they really enjoyed. I would highly recommend this place.

The apartment was very well laid out and maintained, with all facilities well explained. As a family group we found it invaluable being able to easily split our time between being on the beach/in the sea, going on coastal walks and having meals & drinks in local bars/restaurants - all within a few minutes walk of the apartment. It was also very handy being within easy driving distance of many of Cornwall's top tourist sites. We strongly recommend the apartment as a holiday destination.

The property is just up the hill from the beach. It's a perfect location for a beach holiday, giving everything you need for a great stay. We were very comfortable. Emma is just fantastic - seriously so. Our child damaged one of her chairs and she was just so understanding about it. She provided such a nice welcome package of food as well, we were totally blown away. She also let us watch one of the movies she had downloaded from Disney Plus. Really, really wonderful, which makes your stay that much better! Re wetsuits - Emma has a hose so you can rinse them outside - a must if you're surfers/body boarders like us and come up from the beach covered in sand and salt water. I can't rate this place more highly.

Perfect location only 3 minutes walk to the beach. Stunning sunset views from patio area and lounge. Very spacious, photos do not do this apartment justice! Kitchen very well equipped with large fridge freezer enabling easy full self catering, but the fish and chip shop is fantastic if you want a take away. Owner Emma is very good at communicating. The only thing missing is a tumble dryer for that typical damp Cornish atmosphere! Overall a fabulous apartment in a lovely setting, perfect beach holiday for young children.

It was a real bonus to have the little outside seating area with a great sea view - we could hear the waves! Emma was easy to deal with & arranged a fantastic welcome hamper. Absolutely wonderful week in our favourite Cornish beach. We came as a family when I was a child and now coming back with my own children to make more fabulous memories of this wonderful beach. A week of excellent weather made even more perfect by our practical, comfortable and considerate accommodation. Games and toys for the kids, a washing machine and a welcome hamper of dreams! Talks are already in progress for next years trip!

The photos of this apartment do not do it justice. Lovely 3 bedroom apartment with oodles of room for family or friends. It is well furnished and anything you need or forget to pack is there for use. We stayed for a week at Sandy cove, Porthtowan and it was beautiful! The apartment had everything you could need and was a very short walk to a beautiful little beach. The apartment is decorated beautifully, with a lovely open plan layout; meaning we all felt very together at meal times. We were greeted with a lovely hamper which was such a lovely touch. We had two young children, aged 2 & 5 who loved the experience and especially the body boarding! The beach had a nice cafe and Blue bar is great for a drink in the evening, watching the sun go down. There’s a general store which stocks most things and a lovely gift shop near the beach too! We visited Dairyland on recommendation from Emma, which was great fun for the kids. Boscawen Park is also a nice local park and the apartment is in close proximity to other lovely places such as St Agnes. We really recommend a walk on the beach in the evening, or walking up to the old mines to watch the sun go down; it’s breath taking. I would give it a 5 star but for a small issue we had, which Emma responded quickly to and didn’t detract from our holiday at all. I would highly recommend this place, and Emma as an owner and we hope to be back again!

This property was not the prettiest from the outside but it was a lovely family home inside. It had everything we needed and more, lots of room for the children to play and plenty of room for us all to eat sleep and shower. It had loads of space at the entrance to keep all your sandy beach things which was a real bonus with 2 young children and a pushchair who were bringing half the beach back on there clothes. The location was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone. Porthtowan had a fantastic beach and everything you needed close to it. It was also a great location for traveling to other places in Cornwall. Thank you so much, we had the best holiday ever.

Fantastic two weeks spent in this lovely apartment. Very spacious, comfortable and very clean with every needed for a great stay. We love porthtowen has its perfect place for our family,been now for three years running and have already booked for next, staying in Emma's apartment again. The apartment is spotless and very well equipped. It's cosy and ideal for us. My husband Has limited mobility but we managed fine. The grandchildren loved the toys, colouring books and games that were in the house and the storybooks were perfect. We walked to the local shop and both super pubs. The beach was an easy walk and it is clean, safe and supervised by lifeguards. We visited some nearby attractions- I can recommend Lappa Valley Railway for youngsters and Flambards is a great day out for all ages. We loved the Victorian village and the Blitz display. We will certainly book again and would recommend this holiday property to anyone of any age.

Well appointed and spacious apartment in a great location

We had a fantastic week in this lovely apartment. It is more spacious than we expected and has been decorated and furnished with great care and thought, to a high standard, and is very well equipped. There were five of us - two adults and three kids (3, 6 & 8) - and it was a perfect size for us. It is literally a few minutes walk down the road to the beach, bar, cafe, shop and post office, kids playground and pub; so plenty to do on foot. We had never been to Porthtowan before and what a little gem! It is only a small village but with the aforementioned facilities has most of what you need if you don't want to travel far. It is also very well located; with Redruth only 5-10 mins drive away, where there is a Tesco and Lidl and a whole range of facilities, together with access to the A30 from where you can get to so many places in a relatively short period of time. We had pretty rubbish weather for our week, but found plenty to keep us and the kids entertained; both in the local area and further afield. A final word of thanks to Emma and James for all their help and advice ahead of and during our stay and for letting us enjoy their wonderful apartment! Hopefully we'll be back!

We had an amazing time in Porthtowan. We were greeted by a basket full of local food on the arrival, this was such a lovely surprise. The apartment is beautiful, very clean and modern,it has everything that you need and more, all the kitchen equipment is there, very comfortable beds, sofa and a TV with Netflix, also Wifi is great. Owners very helpful. Perfect place for family holidays. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for 4 nights and loved this place. It's literally a few minutes walk to the beach, which is great for families and surfers. Lovely places to eat nearby too. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise and all contents devoured! Great for travelling to Falmouth, st Ives, perranporth, or just enjoying the local beach. Well equipped inside too , don't believe the pictures really do it justice, would definitely stay here again. No phone signal but excellent wifi.

Photo's don't do this place justice, very well appointed, very spacious for 6 adults ranging from 19 to 83 in age, very few steps for those with limited mobility to tackle. Would highly recommend not only this accomodation but also I would highly recommend the owners also who answered my many emails promptly. It is obvious that they take great pride in this property, seeing as a second home rather than a money making rental.
