As others have stated, the photos do not do this house and grounds justice. It is a beautiful place, one which we shall return to, in order to enjoy the tranquility and space that the place offers. The lounge, kitchen and gardens were particularly comfortable and stunning. It's not too far into Ludlow, which is a characterful town. We did report a rather smelly oil-fired boiler to the host, and he said he would rectify this in the future, though a quick visit might have been more appropriate.

The pictures do not do this property justice at all!! It is such a lovely cottage and so spacious. My party of 6 often got a little lost in the space. The garden is beautiful and the surrounding nature is so peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and it offered more than we expected.

Pictures do not do this properly justice! It was beautiful inside and out. Spotlessly clean and had everything needed from a stocked kitchen full of utensils and cookware. Lounge with log burner with ample supply of wood. Beautiful surroundings. check in was hassle free. Will book again.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. One of the family uses a wheelchair and walker but the property accommodated for this well. Great kitchen with all the facilities we needed. We will definitely be back.

Large, comfortable and lovely cottage fully equipped. Heating was available all the time but couldn’t cope that well in the lounge. The kitchen and snug were excellent. Couldn’t get the TV to work despite apparently having Sky. The internet is patchy but that’s only to be expected in a rural area. Beautiful around about with good shops in Ludlow. Tim was kind enough to provide a Christmas hamper. Bizarrely, suggest you take your own loo rolls!

A fabulous property where we hid from the worst of Storm Bert during a hiking weekend. Listing doesn't do justice to the property which exceeded all our expectations - beautiful, comfortable, very well equipped and will definitely stay again :)

Upon walking into the property our first impression was WOW. This carried through to the views from every window, beautiful even on rainy days. The location of the property was ideal. After visiting the very busy Ludlow Food Festival we couldn't wait to get back Mill Cottage to relax. A space for each person to do their own thing. We felt as if we were living in our own bubble. PS the dog loved it too

This is a lovely property, better than we expected. The size of the lounge and kitchen helped as there were four adults so plenty of space to spread out. The grounds and garden were perfect for the dog. Location is good, close to Ludlow and Shrewsbury.

The cottage is lovely with a beautiful garden. There is more than enough room and equipment for everyone. The only negatives we have is that the instructions to the cottage were not help. They said the postcode wont get you right to the cottage, but they actually took us about 2 miles away. The detailed instructions didn't have a starting point, so we ended up having to find the cottage on Google maps and work from there.
We also couldn't find any instructions for the cottage so didn’t know what to do with things like rubbish or how to leave things when checking out. That said we'd love to visit again.

What a gem of a property in a fantastic peaceful location. We only stayed for a couple of nights, but really didn’t want to leave.
The grounds are absolutely amazing. The house itself is lovely with everything you need for your time away.
Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. Dog friendly and about 20 minutes drive into Ludlow. Handy for the Shropshire hills and the lovely south Shropshire towns

Well equipped and characterful house. The photos dont do justice to how lovely it is . Cut off from hustle and bustle , no roads anywhere nearby but in easy reach of Shrophire landmarks . Older children will love the hidey holes, anyone with young children will need tp know the lake in the garden is easily accessible so you will have to take extra care

An idyllic retreat!
Thoroughly enjoyed our very short stay at Mill Cottage. We came for our family reunion as our Dad and his brothers were born and raised in Leintwardine. He and one brother have passed away and all the cousins come from various parts of the country to visit family graves and venues.
We certainly will be back next year. It was a beautiful cottage and gardens with everything we needed. I would certainly reccomend it for anyone considering a stay here.
Spotlessly clean with amazing rooms and kitchen.

Fabulous location
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and totally relaxed in the warm, comfortable house.
I would add that I think the details were slightly misleading....we thought we'd be walking distance from the village, but it really wasn't and a taxi was very hard to track down. We did find an excellent taxi driver in the end but it took some searching.
Also, bizarrely, there's a distinct lack of desert sized spoons!! Could do with adding a few!
Apart from that, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend. Would also recommend The Lion in Letwardine....superb food.

Gorgeous, Characterful Cottage
We stayed in early October and would definitely stay again. I note a few grumbles about amenities in other reviews but it seems the owner has been actively addressing some of these. Those mild inconveniences that remain (TV reception, Wifi, limited kindling) are overwhelmed by how fantastic the property itself is.
I'd also recommend the Lion pub in Leintwardine. Very good food and a separate (albeit more humble room) that accepts dogs.

A great characterful cottage in a quiet beautiful country setting
Expectations were high when booked and it did not disappoint on arrival. A couple of points to note,
Garden noted as enclosed for dogs, but would suggest for large dogs. Also TV reception does drop out at times as in a poor reception area. Would suggest standard Sky dish to improve. Apart from that everything excellent and we would visit again.

Wonderful weekend
Lovely cottage, really spacious, quirky (in a good way) rooms, and a stunning garden. The cottage is well stocked, with all essentials (and plenty of them). A few things which we reported need attention, but nothing to spoil our stay and would really recommend. There is limited walking right from the cottage (a farmer away from property has ploughed their field through public right of way), but plenty nearby - including hill close to Hopton Castle if you have dogs needing a run. A delight to stay in a cottage like this.

Idyllic and relaxing break
Our recent stay at Mill Cottage was wonderful. The view in the garden over looking the pond is very special as is the cottage itself. My whole family enjoyed the stay. The description was 100% accurate. I only wish I had ore time there. The wifi reception is poor in the sun room admittedly but if you sit in one of the many other seating areas this resolves the connection issue for your laptop and phones. The TV reception can still be a little unsettled but nothing tat ruined our viewing significantly. we had a wonderful five day break and will return to enjoy it all over again.

Not as advertised
There are so many things to say about this property.
Absolutely wonderful&brilliant: inside was incredibly clean; the living part of the gardens were extremely well kept. The advertised pictures of the internal layout were good, as spacious as it looks. Idyllic views. Shower temp&pressure excellent
You might like to know before setting off: there is a wood burner but no firelighters or kindling; there is a dishwasher but no dishwasher tablets; there are soft, pristine towels but they are the size of a postage stamp. There is no en-suite so you need to walk from bathroom to bedroom past windows that are overlooked by people on a public footpath so you need to bring a robe and/or larger towels. The shower heads are fixed in to the wall quite high so if you want to shower without washing your hair, you will need a shower cap. The WiFi is as poor as other reviewers have said but this also makes the TV cut out and there is no Bluetooth connective devices so download before you go and bring your own speakers if you want to watch any TV or listen to music other than the radio in the kitchen. There is a DVD player but only about six discs to choose from so bring with you. The switch for the extractor fan is broken , it turned on but wouldn’t switch back off again. As others have said, the outdoor surfaces are uneven and may become slippery in colder and wet weather but it actually crumbles underfoot. How an insurance company is agreeing to cover public liability, I have no idea. Actually dangerous because the back outdoor light doesn’t appear to work.
All of the above considered, I would rate 4-5*. However...
Unforgivable: this is not a pet friendly place with an enclosed outdoor space. We booked this rental for relaxation with 2 pets. The iron railing fence has MASSIVE gaps in it and the hedges have Big gaps too. We spent about a third of our short and precious break time inventing ways to block up the gaps and this ruined the relaxation totally as we were not confident that we had fully compensated for the renters lack of maintenance. There is very effective chicken wire along one side of the garden so they clearly know how necessary, quick, innobtrusive and cheap this solution would be but have failed to do this on the other side.
I even stated the need for an enclosed garden to the renter before I booked. There are nearby farmed mammals and wild birds; to pretend that this was a safe place is reckless and dangerous.

Stunning settings, lovely house, Great base for exploring the area
We have just returned from 4 nights in this lovely cottage. The grounds are just beautiful, I will miss my morning coffee overlooking the lake!!
The house was immaculate when we arrived and we were pleasantly surprised with how spacious it was. The kitchen is well equipped with a lovely large table to eat at, made cosier with the under floor heating. All bedrooms were very comfortable. The lounge has a fire which we only needed to light on the first night, the owners had provided plenty of logs. One day we walked across the fields via. the public footpaths to the Lion Pub in Leintwardine, we had a lovely meal and the settings are idyllic, definitely worth a visit but with COVID restrictions its wise to book in advance as it was very popular.

This cottage sits in glorious grounds surrounded by fine countryside. ‘Cottage’ is a bit of an understatement as it comprises extensions that create an intriguing property with many angles and corners, including a very large kitchen and even larger sitting room with splendid views over laid out gardens and a lake. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and - with a bit of patience - the place warms up nicely (we were there over a chilly Christmas).I would have awarded it five stars save a number a small but significant issues that could do with fixing - some mentioned by previous visitors. These include defunct ceiling and bedside light bulbs and ones that flicker unpredictably, a dripping kitchen tap and rather tired cutlery and pans. A full house would stretch available kitchen resources, especially the large stove that only partially operates - and we tried hard! If you’re dependent on Wi-Fi there’s no reception in some of parts of the house, particularly the main living room, and TV reception is variable. Finally, take care when stepping out on to the stone terrace when it’s wet - it’s mossy and very slippery.
