a very pleasant trip

staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent, with a great variety of organic produce including home made jams that were delicious. The whole hotel was quiet and very clean. Our room was very spacious and we had a wonderful balcony. The amenities were also very good. we would certainly recommend the hotel to friends visiting the area.

location right of a big busy road though the hotel was quiet and is set back from the road. A bit expensive but the whole region is and the price reflected this fact.

Lovely, relaxing week in a great hotel

Our stay was absolutely lovely. The pool was fantastic, our room was comfortable and well looked after, and Joel was a great host.

Breakfast was good but a little expensive. Also, not a negative as such but be aware that you will need a car when staying here.

terrible service , terrible hotel!

where to begin!? this property gave the worst service , not only being unresponsive and rude, they double charged me for a single room and despite the error being pointed out immediately and several times afterwards they refused to correct their error and kept the money they received twice

Aging Hotel, but with Dedicated Staff

The staff stands out for their friendliness and strong commitment to making guests' stays as pleasant as possible.

The hotel’s currently high rating is difficult to comprehend from my perspective. The building clearly shows a need for renovation — both in terms of structural condition and interior furnishings. The room amenities no longer meet modern standards; in particular, the limited number of power outlets and the visibly worn furniture are noteworthy. The parking security concept is also not fully convincing: while one side of the property is secured by an electric gate, the other side remains largely accessible without restriction. Overall, timely investment in structural and functional improvements appears advisable to meet current expectations.

Loved it and would happily return

Loved Les Bastides - wonderfully comfortable beds and rooms and such a warmth of hospitality from the owners. Joel kindly picked me a lemon from their garden every morning for my hot water and lemon and couldn’t have done more to help us. We loved having the piano and my son and father both played. A very happy stay and couldn’t recommend it more. Great location too - 10mins to St Paul de Vence and Vence.

delightful and quiet respite near a wonderful mall and the beach.

The property was off the highway and was well-maintained and lovely. The pool was excellent. Breakfast was wonderful but most of all the banishment was very very nice. Joel made me feel right at home and was always there when I needed help with advice. Truly a lovely place to stay for a moderate price hotel. I highly recommend it. The patio was extra special. Love the deep bathtub too

Relaxing stay in a beautiful area.

We stayed in this hotel 10 years ago on our last trip to the region and had such a nice time we stayed again. It was a great experience. Room was recently redecorated and was lovely. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered recommendations for dinner and sights. We really enjoyed breakfast on the patio overlooking the valley and beautiful gardening. Room had a roll in shower with both an overhead and a handheld showerhead.

In room fridge was on the small side.

Beautiful surroundings, nice rooms and breakfast. Joel was the perfect host: always very helpful in anyway and yet still descrete. Pool was lovely. Large and very good supermarket just 1,5 km away. Highly recommendable for a visit both to see the town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence within the town walls and to visit Nice.

A bit far from the centre of Saint-Paul de Vence when travelling without a car. But that was our own decision not to rent a car. The owner advised us to rent a car when we booked the hotel.

Superb

Joel and the team at the hotel are exceptional. Very attentive and friendly. We also loved the pool, the location and especially the breakfast! Buffet style but plentiful and very fresh every morning. The service overall made our stay extremely pleasant and we were able to visit Antibes, Cannes, Saint Paul de Vence and Monaco easily from this hotel. Parking was easy on site also. Supermarkets and restaurants are within a few minutes drive.

The room was a good size and comfortable. Ideally we would of liked an outdoor space for wet swimming costumes but it is not always possible with a family room for 4. The separate toilet also had no window or working extractor fan which with 4 of us was not the best at times but not such an issue that we bothered to raise it at the hotel.

Everything. my wife and I was on a round trip: Venice, Sardinia, Mallorca, Nice, and our stay at les Bastides was by far the best. Joel (the owner) is an extremely friendly and helpful character, and the place he’s created is simply amazing. The location is nice, right in a sweet spot with running distance to the ocean and walking distance to Saint Paul. We were travelling with our 8-month old son, and found it easily manageble in the hotel, where there were a high chair and other necessities available. It is the perfect spot if you want to rest but also have the opportunity to explore Nice, Saint Paul etc.

We found this family owned hotel by chance and we stayed only for one night. Everything is perfect: nice pool, super comfortable sun bed, vast/sparkling clean room with AC (bonus in the South France).

Excellent experience as we enjoyed the lovely sunshine on the sunbed, comfortable bed, clean room, amazing swimming pool and perfect breakfast!

Wonderful relaxing base from which to visit the French Riviera

Nothing was too much trouble for Joel and Alla who are wonderful hosts in an idyllic location that provides comfortable accommodation. Large balcony to the room with a view over the pool. Everything you could want for a wonderful breakfast. Great base for visiting museums and iconic French Riviera locations such as Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Antibes etc.
