Excellent location with great views of the town and an easy stroll to the centre. Nice and quiet with excellent, spacious, free car parking. Very clear instructions sent beforehand on access, entry instructions and the highlights and eating places of Santillana. A basic but filling Spanish breakfast was included in the very reasonable price.

We loved the location and the car park on site. We had travelled from Blanes on the Mediterranean and had planned a rest day before continuing with out journey.
Beatrix was very helpful and we took up her suggestion of going to the cave museum, Altamira which turned out to be free for over 65's. We ate at La Batea - it was January and most places were closed but we were made very welcome here. We will use this guest house again.
The heating went on at 5pm which meant the room was a bit cold until that time and also cold on waking. Only a problem as we were travelling in January, after all, the cost of 2 nights was very good value.

I loved the simplicity of the hotel where you’re just told where the key is, let yourself in and then just ‘see you at breakfast’. The pillows in the other 11 hotels we stayed in were far too hard but these were great! So clever too, to fit in a modern bathroom into such an old property. Santillana del Mar is just so lovely and even better when all the day trippers have left and it’s nice and quiet.
It would have been nice to have a piece of fruit or some yoghurt at breakfast. It was fine but a little too ‘carb heavy’.
