Nice apartment in the city center with private courtyard

Good points - the place was large, comfortable and beautifully french. Good range of kitchen equipment (cheese grater would be a nice touch) Totally central for everything you need, half way from old and new town - both within 10 mins walking. Area nice and quiet inside apartment. Hint - if there are 4 or more of you, taxi is easier and cheaper than bus from airport. Bad points - Place was not totally clean, lots of hairs in bathroom. Check in instructions need to be really clear as this apartment within the house is difficult to find, its in the basement area through the back of the house (enter via front door then go to back and out again, then down stairs and to the right of the big white partition, lock box is opposite door on the white partition) unfortunately we were not sent the instructions at all beforehand and had to rely on another person living in the 'house' who said he had to help people all the time! Took us almost 45 mins to actually locate the apartment entrance. Mostly everything you need, apart from minimal towels (no decent hand towel or hair towel, would have been good to have hand towels for all people) but having experienced this in almost every place we have stayed I had taken my own. Worst thing, ONE - yes ONE toilet roll for 4 people for 3 days - really? Good job there was a shop close by which was open on a Sunday afternoon! Almost had to resort to tissues!! Think others have mentioned this but still not resolved.

Great location, free off-street parking. Clean and spacious apartment, great for our family.

kitchen was fully equiped, comfortable beds, great living room, excellent location. lots of room, quiet, nice.

Property is on same side of Square Gambetta as Ibis Hotel. What we liked: Great location for exploring Carcassonne, including medieval city; Quiet; WiFi (though connection not always reliable); Appliances & kitchen well stocked (crockery etc); dishwasher tablets/washing machine pods supplied; Carrefour & Monoprix - local small supermarkets - both within 5-10 mins walk; likewise independent food stores (such as patisserie & greengrocer). Things to be aware of: Low beds; Noisy toilet (air suction style); 2 of stayed using both beds - made up with 1 pillow per bed only yet lots of spares available (along with blankets); only provided with 2 bath & 2 tea towels for 1 week (no hand towels); hot water takes about 2 minutes to get through; washing machine stacked on top of dishwasher; very few clothes hangers; only 8 clothes pegs; lots of pigeons nesting in the courtyard where outdoor seating & washing line are; no waste/recycling information - 2 different bins for building; can hear neighbours talking through walls in both bedrooms. What we didn't like: No oven glove or laundry basket; no windows in either bedroom or shower room - only 1 in sitting room on same wall as entrance door; crockery plentiful but not all of it left clean & some chipped/cracked; The entrance door was sticking & difficult to open upon our arrival; we discovered the laminate flooring had swollen. Water gets in when it rains heavily. On 1 evening we had to mop floor of flood water inside entrance.
