Cabañas Kin Balam Palenque

Excellent pool, howler monkeys in the trees. Friendly people working at the restaurant who delivered drinks to the pool area. Pretty nature surrounding the hotel.

I found it quite expensive. My shared dorm room cost $340 pesos a night or something like that. Meanwhile across the road private cabanas with their own bathrooms were $300 pesos a night.

I loved the place. Clean hotel room, nice jungle ambience, sweet and caring staff, functional and well equipped guest kitchen, right across from the colectivo/ticketing station for Palenque archeological zone. The pool was nice especially for very hot days. I loved the bug nets on the windows so you can sleep with the windows open and soak in the jungle air without bites. After check out I was allowed to use the public areas so I could catch a quick dip/shower before hopping on the long ride home. Will definitely stay again and recommend.

It’s just far from everything- not a lot of food or spa options - but that’s the way it is for being in the jungle.
