Hello Gaeta Apartment

The view is absolutely amazing, but all beauty is pain (because you have to climb thousands stairs to see this breathtaking view from your window :)) (However, if you take a walk on the hill towards the old town you’ll find an entrance to the beautiful church with even more breathtaking view of the city and the seaside!) All the facilities were good, the ac worked fine, there was plenty of space, a large sofa downstairs and a bed upstairs. We enjoyed our stay in Gaeta, highly recommend this place - as it’s also located between the beach side and the old town. There’re also a lovely bakery downstairs to the right and a supermarket 5 mins from the building. p.s. if you look outside the right window in the living room, you’ll find can say hi to a little funny goat 🤭

A bit tricky stairs to the second floor. You have to sleep with the ac on the whole night because it doesn’t cover the upper bed side as it does with the first floor area (we were there in July).

Nice spacious apartment close to both the beach and the old town. Nice view and plenty of space for our family. The host was very helpful, we left items behind and she helped ensure they were sent back to us which was amazing.

Noise from outside woke us up, garbage collectors and some speaker that played music and made announcement in the mornings. Not sure what it was for. Little things to make the stay even better would have been items to wash and dry dishes and soap to wash hands etc. We had to go and buy these items ourselves.

Casa pulita e con tutto il necessario per trascorrere una vacanza perfetta. Posizione ottima. Mara super gentile e disponibile. Consiglio vivamente.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr preiswert, liegt sehr zentral und ist dadurch ein super Ausgangspunkt, um die Umgebung zu erkunden. Die Dusche ist sehr gut und auch der Kontakt mit der Inhaberin war ausgesprochen angenehm. Sie ist auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen und hat bei Fragen immer sehr schnell reagiert.

Ein aus unserer Sicht sehr wichtiger Punkt, der aus der Beschreibung der Unterkunft nicht hervorgeht: Man hat zwar einen schönen Blick auf den Hafen, allerdings liegt dort auch die USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20), ein Marineschiff der US Navy, das dort seinen Heimathafen hat. Dadurch ist rund um die Uhr ein deutlich hörbares Motorgeräusch wahrzunehmen, teilweise sind auch Durchsagen bzw. Befehle zu hören. Die Fenster sind zum Glück relativ gut isoliert, trotzdem sollte man diesen Punkt unserer Meinung nach bei der Buchung wissen. Die anderen Kritikpunkte sind eher Kleinigkeiten, die sich unserer Meinung nach schnell beheben lassen. Bei der Ausstattung hat uns einiges gefehlt: Es gab beispielsweise keine Schwämme, kein Spülmittel, keine Geschirrhandtücher und keine Seife. Auch Kaffee war nicht vorhanden. Zwar gibt es eine Kaffeemaschine mit Kapseln, allerdings waren die passenden Kapseln in den umliegenden Geschäften nicht zu finden. Leider war die Unterkunft bei unserer Ankunft auch nicht besonders sauber. Das Geschirr war teilweise noch deutlich verschmutzt und auch der Boden hätte gründlicher gereinigt werden können. Insgesamt hat die Unterkunft durch den guten Preis, ihre zentrale Lage und den freundlichen Kontakt einige klare Pluspunkte. Bei Sauberkeit, Ausstattung und insbesondere dem Hinweis auf die Geräuschkulisse am Hafen besteht aus unserer Sicht jedoch noch Verbesserungsbedarf.
