We stayed at Drfitwood Cottage for my daughter’s graduation. St Andrews was bustling with activity and excitement from first thing until late - great fun! But the best bit was being able to retreat to Driftwood for some peace, coffee and a glass of champagne all with a breathtaking view - come rain or shine. Spacious, spotless and comfortable - thank you! Wonderful walks from the door and great place to dine out on your doorstep.

We have returned from a short break at Driftwood Cottage feeling relaxed and re-energised. This was a short notice booking following a cancellation due to travel restrictions with the pandemic. We are now delighted that the cancellation took place and allowed us to spend time is the beautiful cottage and location. The cottage is warm, welcoming and spotless, we loved it from the minute we arrived. The bedrooms are located on the first floor along with a very handy utility room which is great for cleaning and storing your muddy walking gear. When you reach the living area on the top floor, it takes your breath away. Stunning views across the Forth and along the Fife coast line. It is a very comfortable living area with a kitchen that has everything you could possibly need. There are lots of small touches that make this place just a wee bit more special (cosy blankets, binoculars, games, CDs, DVDs). We enjoyed peaceful and cosy nights in front of the wood burner, my husband particularly loved lighting the fire, it was like a sauna at times, but gave us a reason to open the windows and listen to the waves crashing...absolutely bliss! We walked to Crail and back, beautiful 10k walk along the coast. Crail is a stunning must see fishing village and with a beautiful coffee shop and view to enjoy before the walk back. We also walked the opposite direction, through Anstruther to Pittenweem. This is a picturesque walk, we loved the cobbled streets and old traditional houses of Cellardyke. We also sampled the famous Anstruther chippy, which lived up to the hype! To finish, I must say I’m a bit ashamed that I’ve lived in Fife for cover 10 years and never taken the time to visit here before and enjoy the beautiful locations on my doorstep. But we will undoubtedly return to this location and cottage, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Ian & Janis are really lovely people and provide an exceptional service, we truly feel rested and was exactly what we needed, thank you.
