Large GastHaus, perfect for the two of us. Woods within a very short walk at the back of the GastHaus lead to Saarschleife, about 1.5h walk; about 10km circular back to the apartment via the Saar footpath is great. Short drive to Losheim am See for swimming ; Mettlacher Freibad also a short drive but about 1h walking. Both online booking during COVID but no problems at all booking and well managed. I'm sure there's plenty of other interesting stuff locally but we mainly spent time walking and swimming! Peter was very friendly, the apartment was very clean and, if we were in the area again, would definitely stay again!
Nothing for the GastHaus but Mettlach we found slightly lacking in regards bars and restaurants and general 'atmosphere'. Mettlacher Abtei-Brau is grand for a couple of beers and food but about 30 minutes walk away (nothing substantially closer) and very limited menu, so not something to keep you coming back for food. Didn't try the couple of other restaurants in town but cooking at the apartment and eating at Abtei-Brau a couple of times was sufficient for the week.

Prima. Rustig gelegen. Ruim huis. Fijn terasje bij de keuken.
Sleutelkastje werkte niet en de de opgegeven code werkte niet. (Sleutel zat bij aankomst aan buitenkant deur in het slot) Te weinig bestek. Te weinig pannen. Geen ovenschotels Alleen hele grote glazen en mokken (wel 4 schnaps glaasjes) Ongezellige verlichting in woonkamer. Slecths 1 schermerlamp/leeslamp

Locatie prima voor wandelingen in Saarland
De ligging van het appartement, vlak bij een prachtige wandeling Tafel Tour 16km.
De sleutel van het appartement hing in de deur waardoor we de sleutel vergeten zijn uit het sleutelkastje te halen. Later bleken andere gasten ons appartement binnen te zijn geweest omdat zij een reservering hadden voor hetzelfde appartement en wel de sleutel uit het sleutelkastje gehaald hebben. De host is gebeld, die was trouwens in het buitenland, Er was door Booking of de host een fout gemaakt. De andere gasten hadden Gästehaus Pascale, maar hun reservering stond op Gästehaus Peter. Uiteindelijk bleek de code van het kastje ook niet juist te zijn. Dus veel verwarring bij de start. Verwarming is lastig lager te zetten en in de slaapkamer hangen geen gordijnen.
