About this house rental
Our villa is situated 1 km outside Marathias, a picturesque small village of Corinthian Bay, in Central Greece, only a few minutes from Nafpaktos (the historical Lepanto) and less than 100km distance from some major famous Greek archeological places, like Delphi and Olympia. The access to our area is easy, as it is only a few kilometers away from the Patras port and less than three hours driving distance from the main Airport of Greece, in Athens.
“Goitia” in Greek means charm , and you can easily find out why, as the villa is built in a wonderful location by the sea surrounded by a garden with beautiful plane trees, provide you with plenty of shadow in summer and wonderful scenery for the rest of the year. Only a few meters away, there is the small and quiet beach where you can enjoy swimming and the rest of summer sports (surfing, diving), or just relax in the garden or by the beach and enjoy your holidays.
Nearby, there is the small and beautiful village of Skaloma which makes the best choice to visit in your everyday walks. At the East you will find “Panagia” a small church among plane trees and eucalyptuses. You can relax there and enjoy the magnificent sunset. At a short distance there is the village of Marathias where you can find shops, bakery shop, small fruit market, taverns and pubs. You can experience the Greek hospitality by meeting the people of the village and having a closer look at their life-style.

Lovely house and garden directly at the sea. Crystal clear water. Not too touristy, but you have a few taverns and shops in walking distance. Nafpaktos and Delphi are great destinations in the region. Very nice host, we really felt comfortable.

We loved the views, and the sunsets, and the fact that the sea is right at the bottom of the garden. With a village 5 minutes walk in either direction we could have stayed put for the whole week. In fact we had a very enjoyable trip to Delphi and also thoroughly recommend Nafpaktos which is only twenty minutes away. The garden is alive with the sound of cicadas and, at night, a skops owl.

Dit huis ligt prachtig aan het water en heeft een supertuin waar je 's middags lekker onder de bomen kunt toeven. Wij hebben hier een heerlijke tijd gehad. De zee is een paar stappen vanuit de tuin te bereiken. Het strand is heel vaak geheel privé of zeer rustig. Snorkelen en zwemmen prima te doen. Tuin is heerlijk als ook het terras. We hebben hier heel wat uren doorgebracht. Stadje heeft alles wat je nodig hebt. De taverne van eigenaar Nick is ook een echte aanrader. Heerlijk eten voor heel weinig. We hebben een uitstapje gemaakt naar Delphi, zeker doen! Bij dit huis is Griekenland nog op zijn mooist.

We stayed at 'villa goiteia' for just over a week in August 2014.
The house is a few meters from the sea...we were waking up and going for a quick swim before breakfast! Then breakfast at our beautiful veranda, surrounded by trees. Reading a book lying on the sun beds...
Beautiful beaches everywhere you go in the surrounding area. Lunch either back home (the house has a fully equipped kitchen) or in one of the many nice tavernas around.
Village of Marathias is a relaxing 10-15 walk along the beach. Many options for dinner ( fresh fish, pizza, souvlaki etc) and even a cocktail bar with rather decent cocktails.
Overall a great stay at a lovely good-value-for-money house, located in an wider area that was a true revelation
