There is a large open plan living area with corner sofa and modern kitchen with breakfast bar and stools. Private parking is in a secure gated area. Just a short walk will take you into the village centre and the Lakes and Fells of the national park are on your doorstep.

Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells. This flat was just as shown although it was on the third floor with no elevator, making getting to it with heavy luggage difficult. It was in an excellent location: right in town but very quiet. It is spacious with a modern kitchen that was well equipped *except*: no coffee maker of any kind, not even a small French press or a Melita cone. This was a real lack for me. Also, a mini fridge, not a full sized one and no hair dryer, quite unexpected.
