About this cottage rental

We converted Golden Square Cottage from an old dairy. The cottage was designed to make the most of the amazing views from our hill top position. The view from the bedrooms and the large private deck are really special.

The cottage is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is in a great location for walking and exploring the Blackdown Hills and the Jurassic Coast is within easy reach for great days on the seafront.

Finished to a high standard, with every detail carefully thought out. We've tried to be as environmentally friendly as possible, installing solar panels to provide hot water, using responsibly sourced wood for the windows and doors made by a local craftsman, and using eco friendly paints and finishings wherever possible. As even rural areas are moving with the times we now have a Fibre Broadband connection at the cottage.

This is such a lovely cottage set on a small farm in beautiful Stockland. The owners are very welcoming and allowed the children to feed the animals which they loved. The cottage has everything you would need and is perfect for a family of 5. It's a very central location with easy access to Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. Would recommend to all.

A very comfortable cottage with everything you need. Lovely fresh eggs on arrival, two bathrooms and large fluffy towels made our stay extra special. A quiet area and waking up to amazing views and sunrises added to the charm. Our dogs loved the orchard which was a secure area for them. We enjoyed the wonderful countryside and the cottage was well situated for the coast too.

Set in idyllic surroundings the house was a perfect place to relax and unwind. The location was great and central to many villages, towns and lovely walks. It was fully equiped with everything you need. Rob and Kath were extremely welcoming and on hand for any advice or questions. Great place for a family who love adventure and being able to bring our dog with us made it even more special. Simba, our dog, especially loved his early morning play dates with Noah and Barney. Highly recommend this accommodation.

The cottage is really nice and cosy, feels like home. Stunning view over the hills and village, looks like a Christmas card scene with light fog and smoke from a nearby house. Brilliant log fire. The hosts were really friendly. Perfect experience.

We had a fantastic stay, the hosts greeted us on arrival which was lovely. The cottage had everything we needed and plenty big enough for a family of four. This property is located in a very picturesque setting. We found it very easy to find using the postal code in the owner’s directions. We found the home very clean, well stocked and comfortable. The location was a great base from which we explored the area.

We have stayed at this farm-house previously and very much enjoyed it. This time, we took our young dog with us. The walks are great, although hilly, and the countryside surrounding this very rural spot is very quiet. However, it is not too far from Honiton, and a little further, the coasts of Lyme Regis, Seaton & Sidmouth. Lovely clean, well kept and extremely well equipped accommodation, and the owners on site in their own house are very friendly and helpful, but will leave you alone to get on with your break. We will go again, as most places and resorts are dog friendly, as is the holiday home. Highly recommended.

This really is a lovely cottage. Clean, comfortable and with a great view. Our hosts Rob and Kath were friendly, approachable and available but not intrusive in any way. We received daily inspections from puppy Noah and friend Milo, which were much appreciated! The goats were also quite happy to receive an ear-scratching. The cottage is near lots of great places to visit and there was plenty of information and suggestions both in the welcome pack and in the cottage itself. A great stay, I would thoroughly recommend

Lovely property and friendly hosts The beds were very comfy, spacious living area and big outdoor decking which we enjoyed but would have even more if the weather had been morel June- like. The location is beautiful and peaceful with great views. South coast resorts are within 20-30 minutes so we spent time on the beach most days. And it’s a short hop to genuine Portuguese eateries in Chard if you like that sort of thing (we do) Pygmy goats were fun. Shame there was no visitor’s book because it’s good to read other guest’s recommendations and add some of your own

We enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful break. The cottage was perfect for our family. We loved using the log burner and were able to purchase wood from the owner who lived across the yard. We enjoyed going for walks from the property which was a beautiful area. The shower was excellent and all the facilities in this property were again excellent including the beds which were very comfortable. If we wanted to stay in this area again we would want to stay in this property.

Lovely cottage, exactly as advertised. We found it easily, which is always helpful. The views are beautiful and I particularly enjoyed waking up to a lovely countryside view from the bedroom window. We lit a fire the first night, but the cottage is very warm anyway. Had some great dogs walks, all within a 20 minute drive and one directly from the cottage. Very helpful to have the paddock just outside for the dogs. Good quality bedding as well, which we appreciated. We’ll come back to this one, had everything we could possibly want.

The perfect break!

The perfect break!

Just the perfect place to stay for our little family to visit the Jurassic coast. Far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet and country dog walks, but close enough to everything to nip to places with our young son - who was delighted to help feed the animals! The place was clean and everything as expected, with provisions made and communicated ahead of our visit for the lack of power caused by storm Eunice - which thankfully were not needed by the time we arrived. All in all, we had the perfect little family holiday we needed and our son found a few ammonites to show his friends!
