Initially the owner was very engaged, allowed us in slightly early. Very clean upon first impression. Said it was on the main (first floor) which we assumed meant little to no steps - apparently in Scotland this means the second floor - had to lug heavy luggage up a big set of steps. Wish this would have been disclosed in the description. Apartment life gets busy very early in the morning - neighbors are loud - doors banging. No fans to drown out the noise. My biggest complaint is two out of three days we had no hot water. The water situation should be disclosed in the description - you get 2 "medium" showers and then it takes 3 hours to reheat. First day after our cold showers the owner found the heater had "tripped". It worked the next day and then last day no hot water again. Emailed the owner after leaving as we needed to travel to next destination and have not heard a word back from her which is disappointing. Beds have no box springs and are very squeaky - every move wakes you up. Overall, great location - close to train station, grocery stores and a couple of decent restaurants. I just wish the owner would be honest surrounding the hot water situation. Next VRBO was in the country and had on demand hot water and you could count on hot water anytime and for however long you need so I don't necessarily think the situation here is a Scotland thing.

The property was really clean and tidy, comfortable and well stocked. It was lovely to go somewhere where all the small details had been thought through. So many times we have been away and things like bottle openers or a grater are missing. Was super chuffed that necessities had been provided as coming straight after Xmas we were going to forget something.....which we did and there it was some shampoo and conditioner and a hair dryer. Thoughtful welcome hamper with some lovely goodies. Would highly recommend. The one thing we would change is the door on second bedroom. The frosted glass is fine for a family of small children but we were away with my 23 year old son and if he had brought his girlfriend it wouldn't have been okay.

We would have loved to stay longer, but still really enjoyed our one night. The spot gave us easy access to both Edinburgh and Dunfermline and it was great to spend some time birdwatching down at the water’s edge with Oystercatchers, Eiders and a Curlew! The welcome basket was greatly appreciated!

We absolutely loved the location of the apartment. Perfect location for getting in and out of Edinburgh which we did on the train and drove. We also had a local day and the views are just fantastic. Fabulous stay! The location is perfect and close to the train to go into Edinburgh. The property was beautiful, quiet, and the welcome basket was perfect. Julie was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was spotless and in a great location. We saw loads in our long weekend. Being Outlander fans Julie told us of Culross where some filming was done. Beautiful village very interesting. We visited 4 locations in our stay and even went to Edinburgh for the Tattoo. All in all a great weekend thanks Julie. Will definately stay again. Lovely apartment with all the household items we needed for our stay. Fantastic location with great view of three bridges. Great base for visiting Edinburgh, Loch Lomond and Stirling castle. Fife coastal walk can be joined just few metres from the apartment. Would recommend to friends and family and will definitely return for our next trip to Scotland. We were 3 x adults on holiday in Edinburgh during the 'Festival' ( august 2019 ) We had excellent communication with Julie before our arrival, during our stay and afterwards :-) The apartment is styled in a modern, scandinavia style ( bright and minimalistic, which became us nice ) The apartment lies in a quiet neighborhood, and just about 150-200 meters from the waterfront, where you can see the 3 x bridges that crosses over the river Firth of Forth There is a washing-machine in the kitchen, so if you have some dirty clothes that needs to washed, this is also a possibility :-) We had a minor setback on the first day of our stay, when the fridge broke down :-( But Julie took action instantly, came and took our items from the broken fridge and kept them in her own during the daytime and in the same afternoon we were up and running again with a new fridge - and she even compensated us with a nice bottle :-) :-) :_)......SUPER !!! You have 3 x major supermarkets nearby ( 5 minutes in car or about 20-30 minutes if you walk ); TESCO, ASDA and Aldi If you wanna take the train to Edinburgh, instead of the car, tou have the local train station 'Dalgety Bay ' also within a 5-10 minutes drive from the apartment :-) We had a wonderful stay in the apartment, and with 2 x bedrooms you can easyli be 4 x persons in the apartment at the same time.. Jättetrevligt boende i fräsch lägenhet! Julie var en mycket trevlig och serviceinriktad hyresvärd. Lägenheten var välstädad och låg i ett lugnt och vackert område nära Edinburgh. Mataffär och pub/restaurang i närheten, men vill man bo nära pubar och uteliv passar inte området. Vi trivdes jättebra, använde lägenheten mest för övernattning men tog promenader vid bukten och besökte någon pub. Vi rekommenderar varmt denna lägenhet pga läget, standarden, hyresvärden Julie och priset!
