El Balcón del Albaicín

Very comfortable house and very cool in hot temperatures despite not using AC. Loved to use the kitchen and listen to impromptu flamenco music from the plaza just outside the window.

We liked everything about the house. Wished there had been more than just salt and dish soap to use in the kitchen.

Very clean and great location in upper Albaicín. Quiet area with a couple of small plazas. We walked to and from lower Albaicín, Alhambra and the city center. It’s a 25-35 minute walk and VERY hilly so expect a good workout or take a taxi/bus. For car parking, the host provides a discounted rate at “Parking San Cristóbal Albaicín” — a 6-minute walk. At check-in, we were able to double-park next to the plaza and unload our bags before parking our car in the lot. Keys were in a lock-box so we didn’t have to coordinate a meet-up to get the keys. The bed is firm but comfortable and sheets and bedclothes are nice. Room was naturally cool and also has AC. We were here during a heat-wave in May and stayed very cool. Hosts are very good with communication and addressing any issues if needed. Our apartment was one that has plenty of natural light with two windows in the living room. There was no private balcony, but a shared balcony was available. Kitchen was well equipped.

Spacious, clean

No staff is on the premise, and the door is locked. You need to make sure your message that notifies Francis the time you will arrive at the hotel successfully reaches him so he would come to the hotel to meet you. The roads are steep and covered with rocks and pepples, so it's difficult if not impossible to drag your bags to walk to the hotel. We asked Francis how to get a taxi in the morning. He kindly offered to book a taxi for us. But the taxi driver did not turn on the meter and charged us 15 Euro to go to the train station, saying that 9 euro were for the reservation to pick us up, which we did not aware. We whatsapped Francis to ask him about it. He never replied.
