Villa del Glicine - Ancient Master Villa, surrounded by greenery

We spent our holiday in this beautiful estate in Villa Wisteria from 14 to 29 July (two families: 4 adults and three girls 4, 6 and 12 years old). The house is very original. It has its own soul - the old, kind and welcoming Sicilian soul. All the rooms are furnished and decorated with great taste and love. Every item is in place and has its meaning and history. Many thanks to Dario and Agnes for our wonderful holiday! There was not a single question that would be left unnoticed or ignored. We got real help whether it concerned our stay in the villa or giving useful advice on planning our itinerary. One can only dream of such hospitable hosts! Special thanks to their wonderful dogs that kept us safe, entertained the children and often accompanied us on our walks to the sea, miraculously distinguishing "friends" from “aliens”. The estate has a large lemon orchard. With Dario’s permission we could pick fragrant lemons straight from the trees. After the lemon orchard there follows an olive grove and, further, a pine alley which gives way to a wonderful beach. It’s only 200-meter walk but what a pleasant way! Little kids could walk from the beach to the house on their own. During our stay there we could see only few people on the beach. When, on returning back to Moscow, we showed the pictures taken during our vacation to our friends, all of them, without exception, wondered where we had managed to find such a paradise in Sicily nowadays. Thanks to Dario’s advice we were able to see many beautiful parts of Sicily. We fell in love with this warm and sunny island. For breakfast we had fresh bread and croissants with different fillings and a couple of evenings, with Dario’s help again, we ordered local delicious pizza. Near the house there is a pizzeria where you can enjoy Italian cuisine. Within a ten-minute walk or a five-minute drive there is a supermarket, "ARD", where you can buy any products you like; a railway station, from which you can reach the capital of Sicily - Palermo. You can visit Cefalu - a beautiful town located not far from the villa. This town has a wonderful sandy beach with very gentle entrance into the water. For small children it’s a real paradise. A sufficient number of different shops can satisfy every lover of shopping. We would like to thank Dario and Agnes for the best vacation for the last few years. We still have a vivid recollection of our stay in Sicily.

Our family stayed here at the end of June. The house is the perfect size, with a big backyard for kids to play and for grown-ups to relax. It's in great shape -- no small wonder considering how much damage Sandy did last fall to much of the Jersey Shore. The owner was easy to deal with. He answered all of our questions quickly and is very friendly. I would recommend this house and would definitely stay here again.

Una vacanza, la nostra vacanza, attesa da un inverno e finalmente arrivata...programmata da tempo, cercando in rete la villa piu' indicata alle nostre esigenze. Al nostro arrivo tutto era piu' bello di come potessimo immaginare e il proprietario stesso ci ha confermato che questa "sorpresa in meglio" e' quello a cui mira quando cura il suo annuncio. Cefalu' e' incantevole, romantica e pittoresca, l'entroterra semplicemente magnifico con le madonie a stupire in continuazione coi suoi colori magici e gli odori selvatici. La spiaggia di fronte la casa e' molto riservata, tranquilla, ci si puo' dormire, leggere, prendere il sole senza mai avere caldo...la brezza del mare mitica questo microclima ideale. Dario, Il proprietario, e' gentilissimo con gli ospiti, ti mette a disposizione tutto quello che ha...canoe, barche a vela, ti insegna a fare le pizze ed e' sempre presente. I suoi cani sono uno spasso, discreti se non vuoi la loro compagnia ma affettuosi se gli fai le coccole...ti accompagnano in spiaggia, al mattino presto o ti seguono se vai a raccogliere i frutti del loro giardino...se conoscerete Trespolo grattategli le orecchie dal lato in cui gli manca la zampetta, sara' felice...ma non provate a sfidarlo a correre, e' velocissimo ed avra' sempre una zampa in piu' di voi!! La casa e' comoda, funzionale, arredata con gusto e con stile, il giardino e' grandissimo e pieno di ogni specie di alberi, fiori e frutti...insomma, un esperienza da ripetere al piu' presto, naturalmente in Sicilia e in questo posto magico.

While the photos were accurate on the website, the house was not the tranquil oasis as was described. The adjacent road while not busy did have regular traffic. In addition nearby noisy dogs barked every night. Owner also used a noisy whipper sniper early morning and later in the evening when we were outdoors have pre dinner drinks. Bedding not very comfortable and bed linen low quality. For the price I expected more.At night we closed the bedroom windows to contain the noise and that was the bedroom not facing the road!. Not everyone is an animal lover and having cats wonder through the bedroom was annoying. Not worth the money better places to stay in the area.
