Charme of a traditional villa at a lake

Traditional old villa at the lake with a very nice garden and brilliant view.

Massive Sea grass makes it difficult to swim in the lake. Unfortunately the noise of a neighbouring construction site hampered relaxing in the garden.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! NO ACCESS TO THE LAKE AT ALL! TOTALLY MISSLEADING PHOTOS!

The Villa is unique, located in a beautiful private park, right on the water, or at least that's what you would assume, right? But not this year! Because of a draught, the lake is very low, meaning that THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO ACCESS TO THE LAKE FROM THE VILLA. Instead, there is a foul muddy swamp below the villa, home to millions of mosquitoes, that make your night a nightmare. Nets on the windows? Nope. Fans to help with the heat (we stayed during a massive heat wave, which, like the drought, is not the owner's fault, but why not get some fans, if not air conditioning?!) forget it. However, to be honest and fair, we must note that the staff "on the ground" were really nice, and it was obviously not their decision to screw us. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE Until they change their attitude.

The fact that the owners knowingly missled us, sending us beautiful photos, like the ones here on Booking.com, answering our explicit questions about the lake access, assuring us that indeed, we were going to have access to our own private little beach, really pisses us off. We have successfully booked many vacations with Booking.com, including this year, and we've never experienced such a hoax. We booked back in January. So, by April-May it must have been clear that this summer will be a challenging one. Why not update us and tell us the truth, that this year, due to unfortunate weather conditions, the prime quality of the Villa, the reason that we, or anyone else, would choose to have a vacation there, is simply NOT AVAILABLE? What a shame and what a sham! We asked for a partial refund, but were told that the owners would only consider a discount if we booked again next year. Yeah, right. What a wonderful potential this place has, if only it's owners were decent.
