Located next to Barfleur (1Km), a tiny fishing port from the Val de Saire, this house is facing the sea at only 10 minutes walking on the beach from Barfleur. Inside paintings have been renewed in 2014. The bedrooms have been totally refurnished in 2016. It provides a 20 m direct access to the beach and an incredible view on the sea.

For 9 to 10 persons (total rented surface around 200 square meters):
Ground floor:
- 1 large living room (45 square meters) with a fireplace. Baby chair is added.
- 1 kitchen fully furnished : gas and electricity cooker, Dishes and plates washing machine, oven, fridge (with freezer) and all kind of new dishes are available
- 1 Bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilets. It also includes a washing machine

First Floor:
- 1 large bedroom with 2 double bed (x 140 cm) country view
- 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed (x140cm) with sea view a baby bed is provided if necessary.
- 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed (x140cm) with sea view
- Another bed is available on the landing in front of the bedrooms

Quirky and quiet

If you want your holiday house to be immaculate, minimalist and stylish, don’t stay here. If you like comfort, homeliness and books, do stay here. We loved it. Especially coming home from a long walk on the beach to an old style log fire, and tea with a slice of Louisa’s amazing apple cake. But what makes Joel’s place so special is its location. We would certainly come back - next time with the grandkids.

A charming well equipped cottage ideal for those who want peace and tranquility with a superb ever changing sea view. The Harbour town of Barfleur with its bars and restaurants is reachable along a coastal path ( although it took me a bit longer than the 10 minutes achieved by previous guests) It is also possible to walk via the road which I found a fair bit quicker but nowhere near as pretty. The handling of our booking was exemplary from start to finish. With a warm wellcome from Louisa who was readily available Who was readily available to provid help should it be needed' All in all a delightful stay and one we would hope to repeat.

Our family had a very nice stay in this house. The location is unbeatable with a beach right outside of the front lawn. The hosts were very helpful and kind - we loved the delicious apple cake that Louisa baked for us! The children really enjoyed the toys and the adults found quite a few interesting books to look through in the house’s extensive collection. It all fit with the antique furniture, clocks and decorations that make this house truly unique!

Joel, the owner is very friendly and we always have a good email contact.Louisa, the angel of the house is always there when help is needed and at our arrival she has homemade cookies or cake ready!The house is clean, well equipped and has everything we need to spend a cosy week outside the season. One of the highlights is the large fireplace where we spent wonderful evenings. The large garden is perfect for the dogs, but they prefer the beach to run. You can reach Barfleur in approx. 15 Minutes walk along the beach. The next large supermarket is about 10 minutes by car and in this region there are many interesting sites to explore.We will definitely come back!

We had a delightful week staying at Joel Kopp's atmospheric and relaxing house by the sea in Montfarville. From the moment we walked through the door we knew that we were in for a very enjoyable time and we were not to be disappointed. Louisa was on hand to greet us and had even baked us a delicious apple cake. She was a great help to us throughout our stay. The house is very comfortable with a large open sitting room, and three spacious bedrooms, two of which overlook the beach and sea. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good shower room. A special feature is the 15th century fireplace in the sitting room which gives the house a wonderfully historic flavour. We spent a lot of the time sitting on the beach in front of the house, going for walks along the coast, and enjoying the peace and quiet of the house and garden. We will certainly return as it is a very special seaside retreat with a unique atmosphere.

It was not the splendid seaview, nor the fantastic landscapes,nor the sound of the sea that mark our Hollyday. But mutch more the charm of the French culture en social life that surrounded us. House clean and as described, beach at bottom of garden. Took our dog the garden has fence all around so she couldn't get out. Barfleur within 10/15min walk along road or beach. Small supermaket in Barfleur larger one about 10 min drive away. Lovely to wake up to view of beach and take dog for walk on empty beach. Would recommend house for peaceful break and hope to return.

The cottage is spacious, clean and comfortable. The large garden leads down to a beautiful sandy cove which has an almost tropical look on sunny days. Joel and his family were friendly, generous and helpful and we had a wonderful time. We woulld recommend this property for a peaceful seaside holiday.

We have been to this house two years running and we've always had a good time. It's right on the beach which makes for happy children, and it's lovely to hear the sound of the sea from your bedroom window. The house is comfortable and has a good downstairs shower room for hosing down sandy kids. Louisa the housekeeper is very kind and helpful - she even baked us cakes! The bedrooms don't have curtains - because there are shutters... it took me three days to figure this out but you probably aren't as stupid as me. Thoroughly recommended!

Wir verbrachten 1 Woche in Joels Haus. Es liegt phantastisch direkt am Strand, mit grossem Garten. Abends hat man den Strand quasi für sich allein, wir konnten picknicken, Feuer machen..was wir wollten. Das Haus bietet alles, was man braucht. Wir waren mit 5 Kindern da und es gab Platz für alle. Unfassbar schöne Gegend, atemberaubendes Ebbe-Flut Abenteuer, Steine, Muscheln sammeln, baden, grillen, faulenzen..schönere und effektivere Erholung gibt es nicht... Wir kommen wieder! Danke an Joel, der leider in dieser Woche nicht da sein konnte..

Lovely house, with plenty of room for us and 2 children. Lovely and conveinient location. Straight onto a sandy beach with rockpools. Nice walks along the coast and nearby beaches. Close to Barfleur which has a decent convienience store, and a few bakers and places to eat. The owner was away when we stayed and the house was being looked after by someone else referred to as 'The Maid'. She didn't answer the phone on the day of our arrival, although we were able to get into the property. The property was not very clean when we arrived. The ground floor was covered in pet hair and needed to be vaccumed. The Kitchen and equipment needed to be cleaned before use. The maid turned up the day after we arrived tto collect the rent. I hope that the state of the house was a temporary thing whilst the owner was away. This was a lovely house, after I'd cleaned it.

Detta hus har bevarat andan av äkta Normandie. Möbler och inredning är mestadels från husets nuvarande ägares undomstider. Ägares mor bodde länge i huset, och det är lätt att känna den autentiska atmosfären. På gården stoltserar några höns. Den mäktiga öppna spisen skapar en speciell stämning. Huset befinner sig på landsbygden alldeles vid havet. Landskapet runt huset förändras hela tiden på basen av den starka tidvatten. Under ebb är det trevligt att promenera på stranden. Husets värd som bor i husets andra ända, visar gärna hur man hittar skaldjur under stenarna. Kusten i Normandiet spelade en viktig roll under det andra världskriget. Krigsfälten och Utah Beach krigsmuseum finns inom räckhåll av några mil. Staden Cherbourg är inte heller för långt borta. Där kan man bl. a. bekanta sig med världens största museala atomdriven ubåt. En promenad till den närbelägna småstaden Balfour tar ca. 20 minuter. Runt hamnen finns många restauranger och kaféer. Att hämta färsk bröd till frukosten tar inte länge om man använder cykel som man får låna från värden utan extraavgift. Husets värd är vänlig och hjälpsam och han talar flytande engelska. Vår sällskap, bestående av fyra vuxna, njöt för fullt av den semestervecka vi hade i huset.

Talossa asui pitkään omistajan äiti, ja aidon elämisen tuntu on yhä aistittavissa. Nykyisin talon pihalla tepastelee muutama kana. Mahtava takka tuo oman tunnelmansa. Talo sijaitsee maaseutumaisessa ympäristössä aivan meren rannalla. Voimakkaan vuoroveden vaikutuksesta rantojen näkymät muuttuvat kaiken aikaa. Laskuveden aikana rannalla on mukava kävellä. Isäntä, joka asuu talon toisessa päässä, näyttää mielellään, miten kivien alta voi löytää erilaisia äyriäisiä. Normandian rannikolla käytiin toisen maailmansodan aikana merkittäviä taisteluja. Taistelupaikkoihin ja Utah Beachin sotamuseoon ja maihinnousupaikkaan on matkaa muutamia kymmeniä kilometrejä. Cherbourgin kaupunki ei myöskään ole liian kaukana. Siellä voi tutustua mm. maailman suurimpaan museoituun atomisukellusveneeseen. Läheiseen Barfleurin pikkukaupunkiin kävelee n. 20 minuuttia. Sataman ympärillä on useita ravintoloita ja kahviloita. Aamiaispatonkien haku leipomosta ei kestä kauan, jos käyttää talon antamaa polkupyörää. Talon isäntä on ystävällinen ja auttavainen, ja hän puhuu sujuvaa englantia. This is a lovely house located next to one of the best beaches in the Barfluer, St Vaast area. The beach has great sand, well protected with warm shallow water. The cottage and beach are off the beaten track and the area is very private, other visitors to the beach tend to be locals. The house is spot on, we housed 8 comfortably, 4 adults plus 4 children. Two bedrooms with double beds over look the sea. The owner is very welcoming and helpful, we had a very enjoyable evening with him searching for local crabs amongst rock pools near the beach. Each morning we walked along the beach into Barfleur (about 15 to 20 minutes), where we found the local bakers and coffee shops etc; it is a lovely picturesque port, where you can find fantastic local sea food at good prices (Moules, Oysters, Crab, Lobsters etc). Would certainly recommend this cottage.

This house is ideal for families with young children. The beach is literally right on the doorstep, white sand, shallow water, shells and plenty of rocks for clambering and rockpooling. Can hear the sea while in bed and the seaview is fabulous to wake up to. The best view is from upstairs when inside the house. There is everything you need and was clean (bedding and towels provided). The walk in shower was great for older people (we had Granny with us) but no bath not so good for little children. Plenty of leaflets on attractions provided. Many places worth a visit only a short drive away. Cap Levi, Isle de Tatihou by amphibious vehicle, Vaast la Hogue, Phare Gatteville, coves and DD beaches. Good musuem at Utah beach. Walking distance to Barfleur a picturesque harbour. Had a lovely lunch at La Pernelle with a great view. Lady who looks after the house was helpful. We loved it.
