Albergue San Bruno

Awesome quiet place in an interesting parish in the Camino. Great for pilgrims, but we were on a road trip and was also great for us. They welcome pets and care for them, which is a plus. They were also flexible and comprehensive with our arrival and departure times.

We were the only people staying here, which was sad, but it was very relaxing for us. Their outdoor area was very inviting and they had a soak pool for your feet. The two ladies doted on us, making sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. They made a delicious three course meal with a special surprise dessert. They also had breakfast ready for us at the time we requested.

Nobody else was there. It made us sad because the place was so nice and the people were so sweet.

First of all, we just say GRAZIE! From the moment we set foot on the grounds, we felt like family. The good kind, not the weird ones. The whole operation just feels good, like you're in your favorite aunt's backyard relaxing. Take advantage of the fountain to rest your feet, the cool waters soothe Camino worn heels and toes. Then, enjoy a home style meal, served at a common table (with dinner bell). Their food and wine make you feel like the table was set just for you, and there's plenty to eat, drink, and share. So, sit, slow down, and enjoy the moment. They have all the facilities needed to reset on the Camino: wash basins, drying racks, and a closet space with hangars. But mostly, you get a warm welcome, comfortable space, and a chance to breathe familiar air (even though we had never been there, it was a safe space to just BE). Our everlasting gratitude for the best little space we could have asked for, period!

Overall it looks really nice and the layout of the dorm is good. The owner is also good spirited and kind. The food was good, but way overpriced.

My bunk had very obviously not been cleaned after the previous guest as there were hairs and an old earplug case left. Additionally the food, though tasty, is way too expensive for the quantity and what it is. The dinner was €15 for a bowl of pasta with a very minimal amount of meat, followed by a salad with a thin slice of pork. The breakfast was €5 for two slices of toast with butter and jam, plus a packet of biscuits, orange juice and coffee - this by comparison to the amount and quality you get from essentially every other alburgue or hostel for €5? I also bought a glass of sangria for €3.50 which, as it was quite small and premixed, felt a smidge overpriced. The toilets and showers are also outside. If you're leaving early in the morning and want to pack up/get ready somewhere that won't disturb other guests, the only option is to go outside.
