Les Jardins d'Eleusis

This is a beautiful quiet spot just outside of Murs. Beautifully appointed in lovely surroundings and with thought having gone into the rooms and amenities. We were welcomed warmly by Stephanie and her husband and shown around. In the evening we had a serene dip in the pool before Stephanie cooked us a beautiful Provencal meal in the dining room. The following morning we we treated to a lovely simple and fresh breakfast before we set off for our next destination. Thank you Stephanie for looking after us and making our short stay memorable.

This place is in a beautiful gated setting. The hostess, Stephanie, and her husband who helps serves the breakfast, are just lovely. Breakfast is wonderful. We also loved that we could also have dinner there with advance notice. We were there for 3 nights in the heat of July so we spent the mornings out and about exploring: Gordes, the Abbey, the lavender museum, and our favorite spot Roussillon. Twice we returned in the afternoon, swam in the pool and remained for a wonderful dinner. We stayed in the Augusta room. The bed is very comfortable and we loved the shower. The AC in the room kept us cool and comfortable.

The place was spotless and the host was very friendly, helpful and polite.

The breakfast offered variety and was quite acceptable.  The host  was very friendly and tried really hard to make up for all the shortcomings.

I can’t believe my wife and I were in the same hotel as others who have provided reviews. The main reason we booked was because of review score, especially 9.7 for cleanliness. What we found in the bathroom was mould on painted surfaces, in the shower and on curtains (see photos).  In such a state my wife really didn’t want to use the shower!  In the room curtains were dragging on the floor almost half a metre (see photos). We arrived on a fine day but the sauna was not working, apparently it takes a long time to heat up. Paper cups were provided for drinking, no glassware whatsoever, and two cups for hot beverages with no handles. I had to go and ask for two glasses. The freezer section of the tiny fridge was so iced up that I could not open it. There was a hole in the wall and the electrical installation was suspect to say the least (see photos). If the room was a cheap price then maybe??? Even then I’d expect hygienic clean, no mould. The previous night, only 40km away we'd stayed in a 35m² B&B with private courtyard  that far exceeded our expectations, perfect in attention to every detail with extensive welcoming pack, indoor private spa and sauna and great breakfast at just a little over twice the price.
