Delightful, beautifully positioned, in a very quiet area, at the edge of a small Istrian village, the villa provides privacy for your family, a peaceful and safe comfort place in the Istrian land with calming greenery. One can enjoy relaxing around the refreshing pool, listening to the bird song and prepare the food in superb, stone built BBQ and outdoor kitchen with an additional pizza oven and bar.
Yet, from this relaxing getaway, on easy reach, you may feel spirit of Istrian historic sites, enjoy the culture events, experience the taste of local food and wine.
The closest airport is in Pula (40min) and airports in Trieste (1:30h) and Venezia (2h drive away from villa), open even more options in planning your holiday.
Renewed in old style with traditional materials - stone and wood. It has a private, south facing, swimming pool of 50sqm in front of the house just a few steps from the covered terrace and summer kitchen-BBQ so that pool area is easily overlooked from the house and garden. The villa is centrally placed in the big garden with a lot of greenery. The villa is built with large stone blocks and contains large open space in the ground floor and three double bedrooms on the first floor. All the rooms upstairs have the air-condition. The barbecue has a lot of place to prepare the dinner and it is placed close to an unique garden table made of a big stone plate with heavy iron chairs around.
Notes on accommodation:
The Villa Barbara has the ground floor with one open space with inside walls made of big stone blocks. It consists of the solid built kitchen, fully equipped and large massive wooden table to accommodate six people. On the opposite side there is a sofa and is close to the open fireplace which is made of massive stone blocks. Utility room and one toilet is found on the ground floor as well.
Wide stairs leads up to the first floor. 1sr floor has three bedrooms of ~12-15sqm. All bedrooms have the massive wooden beds, the small table, the chair and the mirror. All of them has air-condition. The master bedroom has en-suite shower room and others share the second shower room.
Car rental essential. Private parking secured inside the property.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house but only outdoor.
Outside:
Your family will enjoy 1000sq meters of the garden with cherry tree and two olive around the house. The Villa Barbara is suitable for children but one must be supervised around the pool area. Private swimming pool with ceramic tiles is 10m x 5m size with 1.2 -1.8m deep. It has automatic water cleaning system of the highest standard. Wooden sun beds are easy to move around the pool or even to shift on the grass. Large summer kitchen just a few steps from the house and pool. It has two fire places (BBQ) to prepare the grill or „peka“ and you will be provided with woods and coil to prepare your own meals. While you prepare the dinner your party can watch sitting on the stone bar chairs and enjoy the coctels in the covered summer kitchen. In front of the villa there is a covered terrace with table. Behind the house there is covered parking lot. The villa is walled, fenced, standalone and just 150m away from villagers so to feel comfortable and safe.
Utility room on the ground floor has washing machine, an iron and ironing board.
Bed linen, bath and pool towel sets are provided.
The pool is cleaned with the high standard and checked twice a week.

This is a beautiful villa with everything you might need. The pool is awesome because it's salted not chlorine. The grill & pizzaoven are perfect and we could prepare delicious meals on both kitchen tables outside. Absolutely loved everything, and communication with Goran was wonderful.

We are four adults, ages 60+ who stayed at Goran's beautiful villa for three weeks in June. From the moment we booked, Goran was in touch assuring us that he would be taking care of us and that we would not be disappointed. He was right. We wanted a place that was in the countryside, had privacy and quiet, yet was a reasonable driving distance (< an hour) to the sea and historical towns. Villa Barbara was perfect. The home was spotless - inside and out - when we arrived, and the grounds and pool maintenance team took care of the exterior weekly. There was a housekeeping option for an additional charge, but we opted to do our own housekeeping, and with a washing machine in the villa, we were able to do our own laundry, which was our preference. We spent 2 weeks at Villa Barbara and we had a fantastic time!
The outdoor area especially was beautiful. The bbq and pizza oven were firm favourites with our family and it was a perfect place to celebrate my birthday.
We particularly enjoyed visits to Rovinj, Porec and Motovun is an absolute must!
There is nothing within walking distance to the villa so a car is vital - also be mindful that the petrol stations are far away, so always make sure you have enough petrol to get back to the Villa (we learnt this the hard way!)
Goran was a very responsive host and we would highly recommend this villa!

We had a wonderful vacation at villa barbara. The house had everything you could wish. Amazing large pool! Airco in every sleeping room. We could also easy reach Goran when we had a question. 10/10. We sure come back!
