Nice cosy hotel on the countryside.

Nice cosy hotel on the countryside. The staff was very nice. I loved that there was a restaurant on the premises. They also had SKY TV. Which was nice for watching films.

Bad lighting. Just one blazing aggressive overhead light in the room. No reading lamps next to the bed. Just some decorative lights that did not give off any light. Also an additional electrical socket is much needed next to each side of the bed.

Great setting, excellent food.and friendly service.

Food and drinks in the restaurant were very good, and service was also very friendly. Breakfast was OK. Choice of coffees was provided. The setting of the hotel was very good, in large private grounds.

The bedroom was small and not very stylish. The fridge was balanced on a white IKEA style table, which was not in keeping with the rest of the room. The ambience in the dining room was not very comfortable, being a covered in courtyard. However it was warm enough.. There was no lift. Some problem for my wife who has limited mobility. The heating in the room didn’t seem to work and was noisy. However, there was a portable heater provided.

We had booked a room but the proprietor upgraded us to a suite as the main hotel facility had a group of fairly chatty volley ball players staying and she thought we would eennjoyy more quiet in the suites (actually a separate apartment with living, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom.

Excellent breakfast but the evening restaurant was closed over Xmas as we would have been the only clients. Totally understandable. Many restaurants nearby in AstI.

The location is excellent. The buildings are beautiful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was amazing and the welcome from the proprietor and her staff was simply outstanding. As we were leaving early in the morning (before breakfast) she personally gave us some cakes and biscuits for the journey. This was extremely kind and the cakes she made were unbelievably delicious! Very highly recommend this hotel. It's a gem.

This was an absolute gem, tucked away in the countryside with wonderful views. The team could not do enough and food was delicious and all requirements were exceeded. I would very much wish to stay here again and cannot recommend too highly. In terms if value for money it was exceptional
