Central Old Town Apartments

The location is excellent. Mid way up the stairs made it easier for my husband to carry my *checks notes* grotesquely over packed suitcase. It was clean, and had all the amenities that were needed, including great aircon.

This is the type of property you stay at when you don’t want to spend a lot of time in your space. It is small, and difficult to get luggage up the internal stairs, and then there wasn’t a lot of space to place your luggage. There was no coffee provided. Apartment 4 is difficult to get into. If you’ve got strong legs and aren’t over 6 foot tall it’s fine. Overall a great stay.

Good location to laundromat and good to roam Dubrovnik. Window ventilation good and had screens so they could be wide open. I am glad he sent me information on how to get in before the day I was to arrive. Everything was clean and orderly with enough towels (even kitchen ones). Inform renters that the alarm to get into the building may go off and what to do about it.

People need to be warned there are a lot of steps both inside and outside the apartment. Also, I am short and had a hard time getting the key card out of the lockbox as it was the top one. Owner wanted passport information even though no other place I stayed in Croatia asked for it. It took a little while to get used to the step up to the bathroom but it was marked. Inform renters that the alarm to get into the building may go off and what to do about it. The toilet lid hitting me in the back was a nuisance.

Staying right inside Buža Gate meant the hotel was literally inside King's Landing (for the Game of Thrones fans out there)! It’s perfectly tucked along the path down to Stradun (the main street in Old Town). It’s the ultimate location—as long as you don't mind steps and aren't lugging giant suitcases. Bonus: the cable car ticket office is right outside, there’s an amazing sushi spot , bakery, etc a few steps away, and you can easily walk to both Pile and Ploče Gates for tour pickups. It wasn't a five-star hotel with all the amenities and breakfast buffet, but the location for me was an absolute winner! It was super cozy, but I wasn't in most of the time anyways because I was always out early and back late from my tours. No issues with wi-fi during my stay.

I stayed in Room 3 and had a few issues during my visit. The TV didn’t have any working channels, so I couldn't watch anything at all. The AC/heater remote was also dead upon arrival; I managed to get it working by fiddling with the batteries, but I'd recommend bringing extra AAAs just in case! The room itself could really use a chair or some seating option other than the bed. In the bathroom, the hot water tank is quite small and runs out quickly, so you'll want to turn the water off while soaping or shampooing. On the plus side, the bathroom is heated 24/7, and once I got the main climate control working, the overall room temperature stayed comfortably constant.

Location was excellent and all the things you needed were in the room.

It was way too small for 2 people. The only chairs are small beanbags and there’s not much room to move.
