Excellent

Location for our purpose was excellent, room was well equipped and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant food and service was excellent, as was breakfast in the morning. We paid less than you would for a travelodge and Cedars was far superior.

In my opinion for our visit nothing to improve.

Very pleasant surroundings and delightful dining area

The room was very comfortable and spacious, with a large bathroom and excellent shower. We particularly liked the dining room in the conservatory. The food was excellent at lunch, dinner and breakfast the next day. We also liked that there was plenty of easy parking. The rooms were set apart from the main hotel buildings so were very quiet but accessed by a covered walkway so the rainy day was no problem.

Ok stay and fairly reasonable for the price I paid. If it had been full price I’d be very unhappy

We came on New Year’s Eve and stayed overnight , there was entertainment and a buffet , it was really good value for money. The rooms were comfortable clean and tidy. , all the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful , would definitely stay again

Hotel is in a quiet location which is a short bus/taxi ride into town. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The shower was excellent. Decoration was tasteful. Breakfast was perfectly satisfactory with a reasonable choice on offer and all the staff that I spoke to were helpful and friendly. Thankyou!

Breakfast was outstanding value thank you.

Everything was very good, if I have an observation it would be that the bathroom/shower room(No4) was excellent, very well decorated and set out, but there was no area (other than the floor) to hold our wash/shower bags etc! Maybe suggest a small table either side of the sink unit would be good. But a very clean and enjoyable stay. (We have stayed there a few times now on our annual visits).

The room had a very strong smell of paint, egg and avocado at breakfast was small and eggs weren’t great quality but that is just a preference of mine. Also plates were left on the table for 30 mins after we finished eating.

Nice place for an overnight stay

Rooms were a decent size. We had a double and a twin room for a night. Beds were comfortable and the shower hot. Ate at the pub for dinner and the food was good. The double room was ground level and the twin room was up a flight of stairs.

A fridge would have been good. Otherwise everything was fine.

A excellent base for my three night stay in Barnstaple

Friendly staff at reception, in the bar and in the restaurant. Good food served all day. A good selection of beers and wines. My room was fine, there was a bath but I preferred to use the excellent shower. A peaceful location. which was ideal for travel into Barnstaple and to nearby seaside resorts. It was really nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a decent pint and possibly the last of the year's sunshine before a very nice evening meal.

Enjoyable short stay at a comfortable hotel, on outskirts of Barnstaple

Room was clean and comfortable (dog-friendly too!) Plentiful hot water and shower was good. Lovely comfortable (big) bed. All the staff we met were friendly and attentive. Plenty of choice for breakfast and evening meals. Bonus that we could charge up our electric car on site.

Plenty of staff on the Sunday (preparing for a wedding fayre) but Monday breakfast was poorly staffed - we were left waiting for our hot food order to be taken.

Breakfast was good, staff attentive service quick, eggs on toast with salmon or avocado fine, alternatives looked good too. Room was clean well decorated recently and comfortable, no problems. Dinner menu fine service good, thanks Aimee, and others, drink selection reasonably priced and quality. Enjoyed it.

For what it is and where it is, all was fine and worked well, no complaints.

Adequate but no better

The accommodation is rather dated in the chalet type blocks. The pub itself isn’t a great deal better although the staff were mostly pleasant especially in the restaurant. It was okay for an overnight but not more. It was quite poor value for money overall.

The hotel was busy as a wedding the day before. So breakfast was busy and a very long wait for good to be served. The bartenders were happy to try to get beer out of a pump that was obviously gone saying it was air in the line and only because I insisted did they give up. A bit later showed it as off.
