Rather over the top ‘ floral ‘ smell when entering the room . Person staying above us was quite noisy at around 4.00 am on our first night. Otherwise fine

Lovely place, friendly staff and nice accommodation.

Lovely stay, clean bathroom and nice continental spread. Bed was comfortable and Staff were very friendly!

The room had a very strong smell of paint, egg and avocado at breakfast was small and eggs weren’t great quality but that is just a preference of mine. Also plates were left on the table for 30 mins after we finished eating.

Nice place for an overnight stay

Rooms were a decent size. We had a double and a twin room for a night. Beds were comfortable and the shower hot. Ate at the pub for dinner and the food was good. The double room was ground level and the twin room was up a flight of stairs.

A fridge would have been good. Otherwise everything was fine.

A excellent base for my three night stay in Barnstaple

Friendly staff at reception, in the bar and in the restaurant. Good food served all day. A good selection of beers and wines. My room was fine, there was a bath but I preferred to use the excellent shower. A peaceful location. which was ideal for travel into Barnstaple and to nearby seaside resorts. It was really nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a decent pint and possibly the last of the year's sunshine before a very nice evening meal.

Enjoyable short stay at a comfortable hotel, on outskirts of Barnstaple

Room was clean and comfortable (dog-friendly too!) Plentiful hot water and shower was good. Lovely comfortable (big) bed. All the staff we met were friendly and attentive. Plenty of choice for breakfast and evening meals. Bonus that we could charge up our electric car on site.

Plenty of staff on the Sunday (preparing for a wedding fayre) but Monday breakfast was poorly staffed - we were left waiting for our hot food order to be taken.

Good all worked out fine, no complaints.

Breakfast was good, staff attentive service quick, eggs on toast with salmon or avocado fine, alternatives looked good too. Room was clean well decorated recently and comfortable, no problems. Dinner menu fine service good, thanks Aimee, and others, drink selection reasonably priced and quality. Enjoyed it.

For what it is and where it is, all was fine and worked well, no complaints.

Adequate but no better

The accommodation is rather dated in the chalet type blocks. The pub itself isn’t a great deal better although the staff were mostly pleasant especially in the restaurant. It was okay for an overnight but not more. It was quite poor value for money overall.

The hotel was busy as a wedding the day before. So breakfast was busy and a very long wait for good to be served. The bartenders were happy to try to get beer out of a pump that was obviously gone saying it was air in the line and only because I insisted did they give up. A bit later showed it as off.

The rooms are not within the pub but in a building next to it which is very quiet. The pub food was also fantastic, especially the risotto.

defiantly will stay again

The room was very clean, the bathroom was exceptional with a full size bath, loved the tiling on the walls. We didn't book breakfast when making the booking , paid for on the day, no issues with finding a table. One set price which I though was a good idea. Staff throughout the hotels and bar were very polite and helpful. We had a issue with the room fan stopped working halfway through our stay. It was changed by the time we returned to the room... no fuss.

I can honestly say there was nothing which comes to mind as far as anything we didn't like.

Comfortable stay with everything we needed in the room; very clean everywhere.

Excellent location; lovely surroundings; quiet room even though the main pub was very busy; good value for money but we stayed outside of the school holidays so that may have made a difference; good choice of food; lots of parking spaces.

The room was a bit tired with chipped paint in places and one of the drawer knobs wasn't screwed on properly; stains on the bathroom wall; would have been nice if there was a blind to pull down over the glass panel of the room door so the light didn't come through at night.

I was allocated a room which was readily accessible which was clean and comfortable

It was a Sunday and, when I arrived at mid afternoon, it was clear there were issues in the kitchen which resulted in a restricted menu and, for non residents, limitations on food bookings. My evening meal was okay for my needs.
