La Casa de Alberto

Alberto was a great host breakfast was good, house was beautiful and confortable

It is in a small hillside village and therefore very quiet. The property was built over a period of five years by the owner, Alberto, and is immaculate, comfortable and clean and tastefully decorated with artefacts from his travels. There are four bedrooms and a shared kitchen and lounge. The two larger bedrooms have single beds and a balcony and the small ones have a double bed. The kitchen is fully equipped and although we did not self cater it looked like everything required is there. There is a garden area across the road with tables under cover for sitting and enjoying a glass or two of wine The breakfasts are great value for money with a good spread of delicacies. The village has a restaurant that is open for lunch only. The food is good and reasonably priced. It was always busy and given that it is a place you you would accidentally chance upon it must have a very good reputation. The nearest facilities such as banks, cafes etc are a 10 minute drive down the hill to Labastida or San Vincente de la Sonsierra both of which have numerous bodegas for tasting and purchasing wines. Alberto is a gracious and charming host who, with the aid of Google Translate on our phones, was able to give us the information we required. He owns a small winery and we got to taste and buy a very drinkable Tempranillo. He made our stay most enjoyable

Alberto is an amazing host, he is the perfect definition of hospitality. He has transformed this house himself, with a lot of taste and using only premium materials. The best hotel I’ve been to in Spain. and what about the breakfast!!!! Alberto is simply amazing, he baked us a cake and brought us fruits from his garden…

everything was perfect

Alberto is a great and generous host: he greated us with two bottles of Rioja wine and gave lots of information about things to do and hikes in the surroundings. He invited us for wine tasting in his cave, which was great. The house is very cool on hot days. The beds are comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. The kitchen has all you need and more. The decorations and furniture are very tastefull. The outside area is a great plus: a nice spot with lots of birds and a nice view.

Everything was great. One small thing: we would have liked one or two easy chairs to relax and/or read a book outside. But this is just a minor suggestion, we liked our stay very much!
