•Slow service: Called 3 times for extra amenity kits (no extra kits were refilled during the entire stay) but no housekeeping came to deliver it till the end
• Staff went out of the way to appease westerner guests: If you are an European, staff will come to your table to ask for drinks request 3secs after you sit down. If you are Asian, probably gotta wait about 3mins before any staff pays attention to you. And the drink orders are 70% of the time wrong...
•Difficult to communicate in English: Both the staff and I speak English, but 50% of the time staff has problem understanding what I'm saying. Like if I say my room number is 324, the staff will ask : 424? Situation worsens if it is a phone conversation request lol.
I have been to the Maldives several times and have received better service at even lower-priced resorts. I really enjoyed the diving, snorkelling and biodiversity of the reef here. Yet I felt that these inconveniences with the service made it pretty hard to enjoy my vacation thoroughly :( I get it that staff may have stereotypes especially with rude Chinese tourist behaviour but as normal Asian people it just felt like we were punished just cuz we weren't western-looking.

Oblue Nature Helengeli was a fantastic stay - convenient comfortable boat ride to & from the airport, beautiful resort and wonderful staff. Gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.
