Mostly the rude hostess that set the tone for the rest of her family. Not truthful nor very helpful. Passive- AGGRESSIVE. I could have handled the clutter,put up w the uncleanliness but not the lack of safety NOR HER.

Friendly family home atmosphere. Felt like I was staying with one of my favorite relatives. Tho told me to, "Feel free to make myself at home." Then she and her family made me feel just like I was just that. Staying in my family's hone! The house was airy, open, and full of natural light, provided by several skylights, big windows, and sliding glass doors. The food was flavourful and plentiful. Plus, I had an entire shelf in the refrigerator for my own use as well!

The Roku TV. was a little tricky for me at first as I had never used one before. Plus, unknownst to Tho, the previous German speaking guest had left the T.V. programed in German and signed into her own personal account! Tho was eventually able to get it all straightened out for me. She said that was the first time that had happened to her, too! Usually, guests cleared their own programming before they checked out and left the property. The rainy weather was unexpected, so I was caught without my umbrella. Tho happily got an extra out of the garage to lend me.

That was the perfect place for us!!

Peaceful, safe and calm neighborhood. As we stayed with the owner's family, we could share a lot, and it was a wonderful memory to be with them. Tho is also a mother of teenagers, so I really enjoyed talking with her as a mother. They kindly lend us some tools and give us something nice. Thanks to their kindness, we could overcome some inconveniences. She taught us Japanese stores in their neighborhood. As I really wanted to experience real local lives in the US, it was perfect for me and I could learn a lot. If we had been staying at a hotel, we wouldn't never have had such a special friendship and comfort. As we get used to cook in our own country and we wanted to follow healthy diet and save money, it was nice for us to cook at their house instead of going to restaurants so often. One of us could play the piano freely at the house, which was also great.

If only we have some drawer to use in our room. We wanted drawers to store our clothes in. Anyway, thanks for everything you have done for us!!

It didn't happen. Reservation was canceled by the property

I booked and received my confirmation , but later in the day I received a message from the property saying that the listing was incorrect and costs nearly five times more than my booking and they canceled the reservation

Very enjoyable and pleasant stay!

I was very pleased with this property. The host was very accommodating and helpful with suggestions for dining and attractions. My privacy was respected and we only interacted when I initiated it. There were 2 teenage boys but they were very well behaved and one of them is exceptional on the piano. The location was ideal. Very close to Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and the Balboa Peninsula. The room was very comfy and I had 2 beds to choose from. One was firm and the other was medium, I chose the firm bed. Wifi was great. They have a nice backyard for sunning and relaxation with a picnic table. I would definitely stay here again!

During booking, I thought I would have my own bathroom but I did not. It turned out OK because they had 2 bathrooms and I never had to wait to use it.

Lovely home and family

Tho and her family are quite accustomed to having homestay guests and as a result made us feel quite at home. She was there to greet us when we arrived and stepped us through setting up the door entry and answered our questions. The beds were comfortable too!

While there are two bathrooms, one feels like the kids bathroom and the other felt more comfortable to me. I wanted to wait for the main bathroom, simply because I felt it was more inviting to me, but I felt a little pressured to use the other one when asked if it was open, which it was.

Nice house but way to many people inside the property

The person in charge of the house did not tell us at the time of arrival that my wife and I will have to share the huse with a bunch of people. We have no privacy, the house was hot as well as our room, no A/C so we did not sleep in the house. I end up spending $180.00 for a hotel room so we can sleep in peace.

The home was very warm and welcoming. The room that I stayed in was festive, colorful and more than adequate for a solo traveler or a couple.

It was a bit of a walk to the nearest bus stop. But nothing extravagantly far.

Very Friendly family environment. Tho and Rowan are charming hosts. I work nearby and live 75 miles from work, so it was nice and close. The bed and room were comfortable and relaxing. I will definitely be a repeat guest.

Tho and Rowan are really wonderful and welcoming people! Generous, helpful, and interesting to talk to, they work hard to provide a good experience for their guests. You immediately feel like you are part of the family. They were very available to answer questions about the area and even loaned my son a pair of shorts out of their own closet.

When I rented this room I did not realize what a "homestay" is. I did not realize I was renting a bedroom in someone's private home and would be sharing a living space, kitchen, and bathrooms with the owners of the home as well as other guests. I would liken this situation to that of a hostel rather than a hotel room or guest cottage. Having said that, I don't think you could ask for a nicer communal living situation.

Tho was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. Her and her family made us feel at home immediately. My room had ample closet space and the neighborhood was charmingly quiet. The place had great parking availability and is very accessible to Santa Ana Airport (10 min drive).
