Everything was very comfortable cozy and reasonably priced. There were two bedrooms, and the place was clean and well maintained.

It would be even better if the basement door were a bit larger, and the stairs could use some repairs. And I hope the host’s family lives in harmony and won’t argue anymore😂

Great start to a fabulous Route 66 experience!

A quite enormous apartment in the basement of a heritage building from the 19th century - in the Bronzeville area south of downtown.. Despite getting excellent instructions in advance I did need some help from the owner who showed me in and suggested places to eat for my evening arrival. This is in a residential area of Chicago, so not a lot of shops/eateries, but only a 15 minute walk to the L train (Green Line 43rd street) which gets you to downtown Chicago very quickly. I had b'fast on 2 days at a place called Peaches which is a short walk in the direction of the 47th Street stop so you can eat something and head off for the day. Very nice food and friendly staff.

Tremendous

Wonderful size and comfort and easy to grab an Uber too and from into Chicago. Rail station is also close by. Host was amazing from the moment we arrived and we could not fault anything.

Large comfortable apartment.

The apartment was large, comfortable and very clean. The family was lovely, including the baby and the little dog which we wanted to see.

We didn't see anywhere to hang our clothes up but that might just be us. Real metal cutlery would have been nice and recommendations for taxis or public transport to get into Chicago.

Super friendly hosts met me and walked me through. The newly renovated brownstone basement apartment was comfy and clean!

Just note- the entrance is downstairs (basement) to the left -- so you don't ring the doorbell upstairs and bother the hosts. :)

Worst PLACE i have EVER BOOKED!!! Not recommended the lady & her husband have too many rules , was rude and accused of of smoking weed in the house whn we was oitsiret( insane). Also we found a camera in the master bedroom… she was watching it the entire time)

Its a also a basement and her kids was loud and running at the top we heard everything they was doing all night!! Do not stay here

Exceptional

The host was very friendly & welcoming, showed us where to find anything we needed. My sister & I were in town for a concert. The suite was very clean, spacious, and quiet, with a private & secure entrance. Our vehicle was safe parked on the street the whole time we were there. It was all-around a great experience. Would definitely recommend staying here!

It was an okay experience.

The place was very nice and clean. TV in each room, comfy beds, and plenty of towels and blankets. Walking distance to bus and subway.

The host was very demanding and went over and over the rules. It took a while for her to leave the place. The entrance was dirty and we had to go through a small area that was humid, hot, and nasty. I hate bugs and going through that was terrifying. There is NO kitchen. It is close to the subway, but the neighborhood is not safe to take it at night so we have to take an Uber on the way back.

Fantastic hosts - respond quickly to messages and were excellent meeting us on arrival and showing us around the property. Good space and spotlessly clean. Good neighbourhood about 20 mins drive from the centre of Chicago and on street parking was easy.

overall other than that it was good.

The property owner was nice and when a problem was addressed about the bath tub drainage they were quick to fix the problem.

The stench that was coming from the bathroom , and the cold bedroom that we wasn’t aware of until upon arrival. However they did have a space heater to use in that room. I didn’t like that there was no Kitchen for us to cook in the two bedroom apartment.

Superb

It was a very spacious area, great wifi, comfortable beds, and a great shower. It was located only 15 minutes from the Green Line and was a safe neighborhood. Appreciated the security features within the house and the hosts were incredibly kind and very communicative.

As a basement unit, there isn't too much natural light, but that's not something that can be easily changed. While we can drink water from the tap, it would be nice to have a place to refill water bottles. In addition, it would have been nice to have had more reusable plates and utensils rather than Styrofoam and plastic. Lastly, since it is below the hosts' house, there are times when one can hear noises or the TV coming from upstairs, although it was never too bothersome.

The hosts are wonderful & the apartment offers just about everything you could need!

The location was perfect - close enough to the U of Chicago and in a safe neighborhood. The queen sized bed was very comfortable. It was great to have a space to hang out in that suited all our needs and to not be confined to a hotel room. While the unit doesn't offer a full kitchen, it does have a small fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and comes stocked with coffee pods & creamer, along with some water bottles & even some popcorn!

The 2nd bedroom (full-sized) mattress was a bit uncomfortable according to the family member that slept on it.

The host was great and friendly and the space was very spacious. The host gave a tour of the apartment and also share tips on places to eat, she made us feel at home; we can't wait to stay again. Oh, my brother said thanks for the coffee he loved it.
