Picturesque Pittenweem

Very spacious and comfortable. Liked the upstairs living room.

Oven not working, however the owner brought an air fryer very promptly.

Lovely relaxing break in a perfect house in a perfect location

The location was perfect for us as we have friends in Anstruther and Pittenweem is a lovely village with a fabulous tidal swimming pool and a working harbour. Some great places to eat, The Cocoa Tree Shop for fantastic hot chocolate and crepes, the Clocktower Cafe for breakfast and the West End bar for a warm welcome and great food. All of these are within 5 minute's walk. The house is fantastic, with loads of space and every facility one could want. Comfortable sofa and beds, we would happily visit again. It's worth chatting to Linda in the bakery to get a bit of history of the house and bakery. She can tell you all about the 'special' Canadian flour that was kept seperately in the upstairs of the house.

Frankly, nothing at all. As far as we were concerned, the place was perfect.

We would book again next year if the maintenance is carried out

It is a spacious, comfortable house. but there is maintenance needed. See below

There is a gas oven, which only lit spasmodically and not at all in the second half of the week, so we had to throw away food as we could not cook it. The water pipes in the GF shower room constantly whistle, and can be silenced briefly by turning on the cold tap or flushing the loo. The lock on the door to the bins area needs to be oiled; there were times when we had to take waste to the first floor to use the fire escape stairs, as the GF door could not be unlocked.

Temperature on gas oven not v.accurate. Bulbs need replacing on cooker hood. Open plan sitting room drafty! No outdoor sitting area/patio.

Can't say more than l would recommend hedderwick house to anyone.

House had everything we needed and was right in the centre of town. Clean, spacious, 2 decent sized double rooms and a twin, two bathrooms one with bath snd shower and the other with shower. Host left helpful info and a wee welcome pack, which was nice. Excellent base to explore the fife coast with Anstruther a short walk away and excellent transport links to St Andrews. Excellent chippie and bakers and a superb, welcoming, little pub, West End Bar, just around the corner from the house. Will definitely go back, couldn't fault it.

Would recommend the house and caretakers.

Location was good for access to high street, cleanliness and comfort of the house was great. Plenty hot water, and supplies of the basics to get you started. Garage for parking was convenient as it can be difficult to find parking otherwise.

The courtyard was very small and a photo to illustrate this would have been helpful. Also a couple of small chairs & table would have better enabled its use. I did ask for details of this twice before our visit but the booking company Cottages.com did not reply. There was also a miscommunication between the booking company and the caretakers with the result that the key was not available when we arrived. No-one answered the phone at the booking company when we tried to get help, and we had to seek out the caretakers home to get access.
