Location, location, location. In a quiet neighborhood near lively Clement street: innumerable eating options, including restaurants, bakeries and markets; walking distance to Golden Gate Park, museums, local shops and bus lines. The apartment is small but well laid-out within its limits and well-decorated, with good natural light and thoughtful touches like reading lights, board games and ponchos for wet days. Friendly and responsive hosts. Very clean. A back patio offers extra space to relax.

The hosts are considerate and observe quiet hours, but this is a basement apartment and you will be aware of their presence at times (footsteps, conversations, washing machine). Accept this as a trade-off for the rest and be willing to check in with them if something arises and you will be fine. If you are over 6'2", you will have to watch for a couple of ceiling beams, although the main ceilings are refreshingly high. People with limited mobility might have some issues navigating the pathway through the garage storage area that leads to the apartment.

The apartment was clean, cozy and well-equipped, as described. The house is located in a quiet and peaceful area. The property owners were extremely courteous, helpful and hospitable, which made my stay comfortable. I will definitely remember this place for my next visit to the area
