Start with the location was nice. Park was very pretty and well-kept. We enjoyed the screened-in porch. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was complimentary, and that's the best thing I can say about it. We ate dinner once at the restaurant, which was just okay. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed the cottage on the lake. And the kids enjoyed the pool. My husband enjoyed fishing.
The breakfast was free, so you can't expect much. I did expect it to be warm. Lids on the chaffers would help. I've worked in lots of restaurants with buffets. Lids are the only way to keep food warm. Our cards kept deactivating. They tell you to keep it away from phones and such, so I thought maybe I had accidentally deactivated it. After being extra careful with the new card and it deactivating, it became annoying. Especially staying in a lake-view cabin and having to drive back to get another new one. Lots of stairs—but we knew from other reviews and brought a wagon. Lots of ants—but you are staying in the woods, so it's to be expected. They did get worse during our stay, however. We only stay 2 nights, so only one full day.
