The Blue Heron Inn

The location is beautiful; we loved being on the lake. We were surprised that we had a balcony and the view was very nice. We stayed there the year prior and it was nice so we decided to come back this year. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary both years. A very nice place to stay.

The parking can be tight, however, we did find a place to park each time just had a little further walk at times.

Everything. I loved the small town charm with friendly & helpful staff. My kids loved the pool. The location is great. The walking path along the lake with the swings, benches, water access, and a kids splash pad was so cute & well-kept. Theres were tons of restaurants around, but also so convenient to have 2 restaurants on site. Our room was incredible. The balcony over looking the lake was the perfect spot to watch the sunset. I would highly recommend this place & am planning on returning!

The sliding door to our balcony wouldn’t lock which made me nervous, but the staff quickly came up with a solution for me. The bedroom door lock was broken too, but we waited to tell them until we were leaving. Also parking when we first got there was problematic since their dinner crowd was using all the close spaces, but we were able to move our car once the restaurant closed so no big deal.

The breakfast is always wonderful, please don’t ever change that. I love all the different options that are available to eat, as well as the hours it is available. Very cozy and homey rooms. We had a lake view room which is nice watching all the boats go by and seeing a couple of Blue Herons fly by too!

No phone to call the front desk. No pad of note paper or pen on desk (needed one but didn’t want to walk down to front desk to get one). No shower soap. Shower head was notably covered with mildew and soap scum. There was a used tissue on the floor near the bed that we noticed as soon as we arrived. The screen door fell off and was difficult to put back on. Front desk staff was very friendly but we could tell person on shift was doing more than she could handle. She was running the whole show from what we could see, answering phones, taking bookings, checking people in/out as well as bringing us the things we needed that we should’ve had when we arrived. Definitely need to staff better. We felt bad asking for things because we knew she was doing more than she could handle
