good overnight stop on the way to south.

Breakfast was excellent, enough and varied

The fact that the hotel closed it reception at 9pm and had no staff available to deal with the disruption that went o n from 10pm until 3am. The police were called by us who had apparently been called out before by the owners. if a night receptionist (male preferably) with full authority had been in attendance it would have stopped the problem much earlier. in addition to that we would have had access to our room later than curfew

Disappointing

The Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and the continental breakfast is very good.

It appears more luxurious than it is. The room was soooo cold. The bathroom even colder (I couldn't take my clothes off to wash and shower). The small wall heater could not heat the room and would switch off after time. The public corridors are dark as they only have timer switches. So being cold and dark it was not very welcoming. I am disabled and we parked by the front door. I thought great! Then I discovered on Fridays you can't leave you car in the car park due to the Saturday market and had to park up the road in a public car park. After check out I then had to struggle through town with luggage and a walking stick to get to the car worried it would be ok as it was full of our luggage travelling on holiday. Had I known this I would not have booked.

Renovations.

It was a great stay, we really like the small family feel to the hotel, the staff were friendly, kind and very Available.

The hotel was undergoing renovations, which we were unaware of, we stayed last year, and anticipated the sitting area would be available, which it wasn't. The front sitting area was unavailable, and the ceiling , in the hall way, next to room my elderly mother was in had a hole and buckets ,collecting water?

Served an overnight stay for purpose

Not much. Check in was ok but room very basic and lacked promised facilities. No hair dryer (that was in reception). I menthol tea bag only and 1 coffee sachet…no English tea. Pretty pathetic

Pleasant small hotel but noisy outside on Friday night.

Good location, very central to the town with restaurants, museum within easy walking distance. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Free parking close by

Room at the front of the hotel was very noisy, with cars racing past into the early morning and people shouting, followed by early morning setting up of the market. A very good idea is to ask for a room at the back of the property if possible, especially on a Friday night.

A warm welcome and comfy beds in a charming little town

This hotel was perfect for our family as we travelled home through France, from the reserved parking place and the warm welcome at reception, to the superbly comfy beds and excellent breakfast. The location is lovely - right in the centre of Bernay, near a bakery, restaurants, plenty of interesting shops and the river.

Just a tiny suggestion - the bathroom could have done with some towel rails and a hook on the back of the door.

Perfect for our needs.

We loved the couple who now own the hotel. It’s an old place and shows some wear and tear but the new owners have only been there 6 months. It has a lot of potential. It was perfect for our needs. We were only passing through on our way to a factory tour. We would stay again. It has a very homey feel to it - just needs a little modernizing. It was very clean. Bernay, by the way, is a lovely little town with a small river passing through it. Easy to explore.

Overlooked high street, a bit noisy. Curtains didn't close properly, light coming in the room not great for light Sleepers. No proper shower just over the bath shower and no shower curtain.

Staff was friendly, breakfast was good and sufficient, location in the middle of the town was great and we could park the car in a free parking slot until 9 am.

Our room had a wall-to-wall carpeting and above that two extra carpets that all looked worn and bit dirty therefore the room did not feel homely. A facelift would make a big difference.
