Woodland Cottage by the Sea

The proximity to the ocean and beach and how close we were to outdoor activities.

It is not as secluded as it seems and it would be better if it had a fenced back yard for the dogs and so you could have some privacy from the neighbors next door. Also could use some cooking utensils, a rug in the bathroom, a new broom/dustpan, some bigger and cohesive glasses to drink out of and a new bed as the mattress was uncomfortable and the bed wobbled really badly.

- It was very clean and comfortable. - The beach access was closer and easier than I expected it would be. - The place was decorated beautifully, it is so cute. - It strikes a balance of feeling secluded, while really having others nearby, which was perfect for me as a solo stay.

- The road noise is noticeable.

Close to Yachats, comfortable recliners, large and fluffy towels, fire pit in back, short walk to beach access - steep but steps provided. Some walking over medium-sized rocks but not an issue.

No information on the wifi. A laminated note on the refrigerator door identified the personal contact for issues. Her phone and email were provided. However, she did not respond to either method. Further, there was a contact phone for Guest Services, indicating it was available 24/7, but the phone number had been disconnected so was of no use. The following morning, we found a new phone number in the texts from Vacasa. They called back and provided the wifi info. The laminated card should be updated with current info, and the wifi info added.

great size, location and sense of privacy

Didn’t feel like the hosts wanted guests! super cheap linens (washcloth felt like steel wool), missing basics like coffee filters or sugar, large signs threatening fines for not following rules but no polite/friendly list, roku tv with no access to ANY platforms, noisy old fridge, weird assortment of insufficient and mismatched dishes…. any one of these things isn’t a big deal but, taken together, it felt like the hosts just wanted our money with as little consideration and effort on their end as possible.
