Sweet little cabin

Great spot on the best local beach. Variety of ways to stay from tent sites, tiny cabins, to little cabins.

Heated mattress helped us sleep warmly. Bed was comfortable.

Receptionist was not customer friendly, either on the phone or in person. His attitude suggested I was the problem. He gave me poor directions from main st to register. And your signage says to register in one place when we could have driven down and registered at the office. Would have liked a restroom closer to the yurts.even a portapotty for nighttime use.

Campground is beautiful and the facilities are nice! Be aware of noise in the evening.

The facility is wonderful! Bathrooms were clean, the cabana was clean as well. So close to the river and walking distance to the town.

There is a homeless encampment nearby, completely separate from the campground but the noise travels. There was constant screaming and yelling all evening. My husband and I ended up leaving at around 2am due to the noise. I did contact the staff regarding that issue and they did advise me that they constantly walk the premise throughout the night to ensure safety. I appreciated hearing that. I am a light sleeper and could not sleep through the loud noise which was why we ended up leaving.

The closeness to the beach area was a plus.

Trying to figure out how to use the stove in the kitchen. Very confusing, ended up going out for coffee. No biggie.

Great location in Guerneville. Pretty site. Acess to the beach was nice.

We might as well have slept outside. The cabin was very poorly insulated, and even mid-August we were freezing cold during the night! I wish we had had an electric heater provided, or even a kettle at least to make a hot water bottle. These conditions made the stay very uncomfortable.

I liked the location. Close to everything and in the river.

It was very noisy during the day and the bungalow walls are very thin. I could hear my neighbor screaming all night. The beds are awful, I could have probably slept more comfortably on the floor. The price is bit worth it.

I had a very relaxing and fun holiday weekend in Gurneville staying at Johnsons Beach!

I stayed in a tent cabin, it was right by the river… my favorite thing was it had a heated bed, which was incredible! The location was perfect. The tent was a thick canvas, there are outlets to charge phones and wifi. It was very comfortable

The only downside is that the tent cabins share a common bathroom/shower facility with the campground which is a short walk away… but feels longer late at night. I would recommend bringing a flashlight or lantern

The showers andbathroom was too far away - kinda centrally located for both the tents and campers. Closer to campers. There should be a bathroom closer to tents. Too far for my ten year old to walk by herself for safety. The water was turned off at the tent sites. The foliage was overgrown.

Financial compensation.

You should be ashamed of yourself for charging $450 for a tiny rickety room with no AC, no insulation. It was advertised that there was a shared kitchen on the property. There was not. My children and I ate cold chicken and rice for dinner. The bathroom/shower was so tiny it was laughable. The temperature of the water vacillated between cold and scalding, making it impossible to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. I could see the ground story below between the slats in the floors. The campsite adjacent held a karaoke party well past "quiet time". It is utterly preposterous to charge that amount of money for the value of this place. I will never go back and I would like financial compensation for the awful experience we had.

Tranquil and quant bungalows are a great way to decompress from City living.

It’s locally centrally in Guerneville with just a few minute walk to Safeway and Main St. with all its shops and restaurants. Has its own private beach and easy parking.

No complaints, have been coming here for years and love it.

Loved Johnson's Beach! Great location great staff, great to hang out under the redwoods.

Location is great! Access to the Russian River and walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. Food and beverage service right on the shores of the river. Nearby Armstrong Redwood preserve, and the ocean is a short drive away, with well maintained beach access and facilities.

It was hard to find the driveway to the campground at night

Run...don't walk. An awful room with no ventilation, rusted features, filthy bathroom and bugs.

This was a terribly overpriced room with a filthy and rusted bathroom and unusable kitchen. There is no staff onsite and you are basically sleeping in a parking lot.

Squalid, unimaginative layout.

It was smack in Guerneville, close to eateries and shops.

Coming from River Bend Resort, which is another camping ground about 7 minutes away, Johnson's was a disappointment. There was all the inconvenience of staying at a campground but none of the charm of staying amidst the redwoods. The grounds were unkempt with dead leaves everywhere, and patchy and brown grass everywhere. It conveyed a sense of squalor. The layout of the camp was unimaginative, the cabins laid out in a grid like a concentration camp, and no shrubbery to provide each site with some privacy.

The place itself had a nice vibe, but the cleanliness could’ve been better. I understand the cleaning crew probably does their best, and the turnover time between guests might be short—but for example, the bathroom could definitely use a deeper clean. It wasn’t terrible, but if you’re someone who pays close attention to things like fresh sheets, how clean the bathroom is, or how the space smells, this might not be the best fit for you. The kitchen utensils are pretty basics too, make sure to bring everything you need if you plan on cooking

Showers were awful… water went from scalding to cold, no in between. Bathroom & room were tiny, lighting didn’t work. No AC. I thought we were going to be in a cute little cabin, but it was on the 2nd floor w a small deck. Beds were comfy, overall nice stay, but not worth what we paid.

Chris was very nice and friendly welcoming us. The location is perfect, quiet near the river. The cabin was clean, the beds were very comfortable

The night was very cold, and there was no heating option at all in the cabin. We had to sleep with hoodies and socks on to keep warm although the blanket was nice and thick, but not enough. Also the water took in the evening and morning about 10 minutes to warm up.

Potential but falls a little short

It’s in a great location, though the direction link from booking.com was not accurate. Typing the address into Apple Maps worked.

WiFi might be free but doesn’t really exist out in the trailer where I stayed and when it did appear as an option it only had one bar. I was one of the trailers closest to the check-in building so there should have been signal. Had to use the community’s public Wi-Fi while it was working. You cannot reach anyone by phone though they are pretty quick with the message replies. Because of that my experience really lacked any human interaction. It was still a nice place but for me, probably not $250 worth.

VERY overpriced for a pitiful room & camp.

Location that’s it.

The room smelled of sewer gas. The curtains didn’t cover the windows. There was no hand soap, shower soap, shampoo or conditioner. The camp bathroom which was next door was noisy. The floorboards had quarter inch gaps in between the wood planks.
